Wall-mounted air conditioners have relatively good indoor air circulation efficiency. They use cross-flow fans and lengthen the air outlet to ensure uniform indoor air circulation over a wide area. . In order to further improve this, it would be possible to make the air outlet even longer horizontally, but since the main body of the air conditioner would also be larger horizontally, the installation space on the wall would be limited.
In particular, in general homes, it is required that it be installed within 3 square pillars, so the width dimension of the home air conditioner is
It is configured with an upper limit dimension of around 850mm.

The configuration of a conventional air conditioner will be explained with reference to FIG. Reference numeral 1 denotes an air conditioner main body, which is formed into a substantially box shape with a front panel 2 that covers the front surface attached thereto. The front panel 2 is provided with an inlet 3 and an outlet 4 for indoor air, a heat exchanger 5 is installed opposite the inlet 3, and a cross-flow fan 6 is installed opposite the outlet 4. An air passage 7 is formed from the suction port 3 to the heat exchanger 5 and the fan 6 outlet 4. Reference numeral 8 denotes an electric control section, which is arranged in parallel on the side of the heat exchanger 5. A fan motor 9 is installed on the side of the fan 6 on the side of the electric control unit 8, and is connected to the fan 6 by a shaft to drive the fan. Reference numeral 10 denotes a display section provided on the front panel 2 for displaying a display lamp or the like indicating the operating status, and is provided on the side of the air outlet 4 and on the side of the electric control section 8.

In this way, in conventional systems, the electric control unit and fan motor are housed on the side of the air duct where the heat exchanger and fan are installed, so the width of the air conditioner and the width of the electric control unit are different. This is the sum of the dimensions. Generally, the electrical control section is approximately the width of the main body.
Since it corresponds to 1/4, the effective width of the air outlet is approximately 70% of the width of the main body, and approximately 30% of the width is ineffective as a blower function.

Furthermore, since the electrical control section is housed inside the front panel, the front panel must be removed for wiring during installation or for service inspection, resulting in poor workability.

This idea was made in consideration of the above points, and the electric control section is located at the bottom of the main body, and although the width of the main body is the same as before, the effective width of the air blowing function is greatly improved, and the electric control section can be inspected. It is made easy.

The embodiment will be explained below with reference to FIG. 2 and subsequent figures. 1 is the air conditioner main body, and the front panel 2 is on the front.
It has a roughly box-like shape with a In the main body 1, a suction port 3 and a blowout port 4 for indoor air are arranged side by side on the front panel 2. A heat exchanger 5 having substantially the same front surface area is provided in opposition to the suction port 3. Reference numeral 6 denotes a cross-flow fan, which is installed opposite to the air outlet and has approximately the same length as the width of the heat exchanger 5.
A fan motor 9 is connected to the cross flow fan 6 by a shaft and drives the cross flow fan 6.
By operating the fan motor 9, indoor air is sucked in through the suction port 3, passes through the heat exchanger 5, the cross flow fan 6, and the air outlet 4, and is blown out into the room again, forming a circulating air passage 7.

Reference numeral 10 denotes a display panel, and the front lower part of the front panel 2 is inclined diagonally downward, and a corresponding display part 10 is provided.
a and a bottom surface 10b corresponding to the bottom of the main body 1, and is covered and mounted in a space 11 formed by removing the lower portions of the main body 1 and the front panel 2. 1
Reference numeral 2 denotes an engaging portion provided at the front edge of the display panel 10 to engage with the main body 1, and reference numeral 13 is a fixing portion provided at the rear edge of the display panel 10, which is fixed by screws 14. Reference numeral 8 denotes an electric control unit such as a display device, which is mounted inside the display panel 10 and installed in the space 11. 15
is an outlet for the remote control cord 16 or the power cord 17, and is appropriately cut out at the rear edge of the display panel 10. Detachable filters 19 and 20 installed on the entire inner surface of the suction port 3 are a first drain tray and a second drain tray, respectively, and the first drain tray is installed facing the lower surface of the heat exchanger 5. The drain water generated from the heat exchanger 5 is transferred to the first drain tray 19.
The water bypasses both sides of the air outlet 3, flows into the second drain tray 20, and is discharged to an appropriate location outdoors via the drain hose 21. Further, the second drain tray 20 is formed over the entire lower surface of the air passage 7 so as to be able to collect the slime adhering to the back surface 1a of the main body and the air outlet 4. Reference numeral 22 denotes a mounting plate that is fixed to a wall surface and supports the main body 1. 23 is the refrigerant pipe,
A drain hose 2 extends from the side of the heat exchanger 5.
It extends outdoors together with 1 and is connected to the outdoor unit side. 24 is a wind direction changing device provided at the air outlet 4, and 25 is a remote control switch for remotely controlling operation.

In this way, this idea creates a space at the bottom of the main body, attaches a display panel to cover this space, and houses the electrical control section within the space inside the display panel. There is no need to provide storage space for the heat exchanger, the width of the heat exchanger can be expanded, and the width of the circulation air passage can be expanded.
In addition to improving heat exchange efficiency, the width of the circulating air blown into the room is increased, and the indoor temperature distribution is made more uniform. Furthermore, since the width of the main body can be made exactly the same as that of the conventional device, even if the wall space is small in a small room, the device can be installed in the same way as the conventional device.

Furthermore, since the display panel is removable and located at the bottom of the main body for easy servicing, it is easy to connect indoor and outdoor wiring during installation, or to position the remote control cord and power cord to extend. Furthermore, the work becomes easier when servicing electrical control parts such as display devices. In addition, the display surface is located diagonally downward at the bottom of the front, making it possible to use almost the entire width of the main unit.
The display can be made large, making it very easy to see the display during driving operations, and has extremely high practical effects.
