Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease the amt. of the camber to be generated in a hot rolling line by successively applying tension to the front end of a rolling material by tension applying devices provided between the respective stands of a finishing mill train. CONSTITUTION:A camber measuring instrument 4 is provided to the inlet side of the finishing mill train 3 of the hot rolling line 1 consisting of the roughing mill train 3 and the finishing mill train 3. The tension applying devices 5 are provided between the respective stands 31 of the finishing mill train 3. The outputs from the camber measuring instrument 4 and load detectors 32 installed ot the respective stands 31 are inputted to a control device. The respective control signals from the control device 6 are respectively inputted to the respective tension applying devices 5. The tension applying devices, for example, pinch rolls 5, are controlled in the rotating speed of the rolls, the opening and closing of the roll gap and the difference between the right and left roll gaps by the control signal from the control device 6.
