Abstract

PURPOSE:To control scavenge timing and to improve an output, by providing a control ring, which reciprocates in a phase different from that of a piston, between a cylinder liner and the piston. CONSTITUTION:In a uniflow scavenging engine, which provides scavenge ports 3a in the bottom of a cylinder liner 3 being equipped with an exhaust hole providing an exhaust valve 9 in the top part, a control ring 2 is provided between a piston 1 and the cylinder liner 3.
