Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the reflectivity and gloss on the surface of photographic paper and to improve the sharpness and resolution of an image by joining a resin film to the matt surface of metallic foil to form a reflection layer and providing a photographic sensitive emulsion layer on the reflection layer. CONSTITUTION:The reflection layer 3 is constituted of an aluminum foil material 3b having a resin coat 3a and the surface of the aluminum foil 3b is matted. The aluminum material constituting the reflection layer is stuck as a foil material on base paper 4 but the base paper is not always required and the resin coat may not be provided between said material and a photosensitive emulsion 2. Namely, the functions as the reflection layer and the base paper as a base may be commonly obtd. from the aluminum material alone. Incident light is thereby irregularly reflected and the effect of irradiating light from the rear surface is obtd. The sharpness and resolution are thus obtd.

[Detailed Description of the Invention] [Industrial Field of Application] The present invention provides contact printing using a printer or an enlarger.
Printing a negative image relates to a printing material for obtaining a photographic image through steps such as exposure, development, stopping, and fixing.

A conventional printing material for photographic printing, for example, printing paper for color printing, has a structure as shown in FIG.

In the figure, l is a gelatin layer that holds the photosensitive emulsion layer 2, prevents friction fog, and improves the finish gloss, and 3 is a resin layer as a reflective layer interposed between the photosensitive emulsion layer 2 and the base paper 4, which contains white pigment. It increases the reflectance and gloss of the surface of the photographic paper and prevents the emulsion from penetrating into the paper fibers of the base paper 4. Note that 5 is a resin layer applied to the back surface of the base paper 4.

Since the reflective layer in conventional photographic materials was composed of a resin layer containing a white pigment as described above, there was a natural limit to the improvement of the reflectance and gloss of the surface of photographic paper, for example. For this reason, even if an image is printed on photographic paper, it goes without saying that the brightness of the entire image cannot be increased, and there are significant restrictions on improving the sharpness and resolution of a single image, making it impossible to obtain good image quality.

This invention attempts to solve the above-mentioned problems by constructing the reflective layer from a matte (non-directional) aluminum material.

In this embodiment, the reflective layer 3 is composed of an aluminum foil material 3b having a resin coat 3a. That is, the surface (upper side in the figure) of this aluminum foil 3b is matte (non-directional).

In this example, the aluminum material constituting the reflective layer is pasted on the base paper as a foil material, but the base paper is not necessarily necessary, and there is no need for a resin coat between it and the photosensitive emulsion. Of course, the aluminum material alone may also function as a reflective layer and a base paper.

Since this invention has the above-mentioned configuration, the incident light is diffusely reflected, and an effect similar to that of irradiating light from the back surface is obtained.
A photographic printing material capable of forming images with high sharpness and resolution can be obtained.
