It also poses a major obstacle in terms of medical and nursing services. The cause of such pressure sores is said to be mainly due to continuous pressure on the tissue and muscles of the bony prominence, which slows or blocks cell metabolism and eventually leads to cell necrosis. Recently, special devices have been developed that are placed between the patient's bony prominences (mainly the sacrum, greater trochanter, and ischia) and bedding, etc., to distribute the patient's weight over the bony prominences and prevent pressure sores. Matsuto was developed and became commercially available, and its efficacy has been demonstrated clinically and it has attracted attention. These mats provided a bright spot in the face of the elderly problem, which was expected to become even more serious in the future, and further improvements were inevitable to become a major social demand.

FIG. 1 is a partially cutaway perspective view showing a typical embodiment of the mat of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is an enlarged vertical sectional view of the same partially cut away. That is, the present invention includes a hydrogel 2 made of highly water-absorbent and hygroscopic powder resin moistened with a large amount of water, and a plurality of small holes 31 perforated in a waterproof bag-like cover 1 whose periphery is sealed. This bed sore prevention mat is formed by enclosing sheets 3 of soft and elastic synthetic rubber foam or synthetic resin foam. The highly water-absorbent and hygroscopic powder resins that make up Hydrogel 2 include flaky, fine powder, or small spherical acrylic acid (salt) grafted starch, vinyl alcohol acrylic acid (salt) block copolymer, crosslinked polyacrylic acid (salt), Modified polyvinyl alcohol and the like are widely used, but these have the ability to absorb water hundreds to 2,000 times their own weight and turn it into a gel, and applications that take advantage of this property are being developed.
In addition, the foam sheet 3 enclosed in the cover 1 together with the hydrogel 2 is a sheet (thickness: 5-10 mm) was adopted, and the above hydrogel 2
Two to five sheets are enclosed in the cover 1 so that they are stacked independently in a floating state in the thickness direction. The small holes 31 of the sheet 3 are perforated to promote various fluidities of the hydrogel 2.
Most preferably, the diameter is 5 to 20 mm and the aperture ratio to the total surface area of the sheet 3 is 30 to 70%. Furthermore,
The cover 1 may be made of a waterproof material that does not allow the encapsulated hydrogel 2 to leak out, but the material may not be soft to the touch.
It is desirable to take into account texture, heat insulation, etc., and from these points of view, a laminated product made of stretchable nylon jersey or knitted fabric and a closed-cell 1,2-polybutadiene foam sheet,
The foam sheet can be used as an inner surface, or a stretchable nylon tricot or stockinette fabric and a similar foam sheet can be laminated as a separate cover to further ensure waterproofness inside the foam sheet. It may also be desirable to provide an inner cover 1' with a flat inner cover 1'. In the figure, a stretchable nylon jersey fabric 11 is used as the surface layer, and a thickness of 1~1 as the inner layer.
3mm, foam sheet 1 mentioned above with a foaming ratio of 5 to 15 times
2 is laminated, a stretchable nylon tricot fabric 11' is placed inside the cover 1, and a foam sheet 12' of the same quality and expansion ratio as the sheet 12 with a thickness of 1 to 1.5 mm is laminated as an inner layer. The cover is shown as having two types of covers: an inner cover 1' and an inner cover 1'. The overall shape is 300 to 500 mm on each side.
It has a substantially square mat shape, and is adjusted so that the total thickness when uncompressed is approximately 20 to 100 mm, and the volume ratio of the sheet 3 to the internal volume is 30 to 70%.

When weight is applied to this mat, the load pressure is distributed in all directions by the fluidity of the hydrogel 2 within the covers 1 and 1', and the tissue and muscles existing between the bone prominence and the mat are dispersed. This avoids concentrated pressure, which is the biggest cause of bedsores, and effectively prevents bedsores even under continuous load without causing a delay in cell metabolism. Moreover, the presence of the foam sheet 3 suppresses excessive dispersion of the hydrogel 2, and the hydrogel 2 flows even through the small holes 31 formed in the sheet 3, so that the hydrogel 2 becomes three-dimensional within the cover 1. This ensures a more uniform dispersion of the hydrogel 2 within the cover 1.
This is extremely suitable for preventing the above-mentioned bedsores. In addition, since the sheet 3 is made of a flexible and elastic foam, its cushioning properties provide a pleasant feeling to the patient, and since the cover 1 is made of the above-mentioned material, it has a good texture and texture, and can be used for a long time. But it also has the added benefit of maintaining that comfort.
