Fig. 1 shows an example of a general air conditioner, in which a rectangular parallelepiped casing 1 is equipped with a blower 2, a motor 3, a heat exchanger 4, a filter 5, and a humidifier, etc., as appropriate. The structure is such that the temperature and humidity of the inhaled air are balanced and the air is sent out from the blow-off duct 7.The casing 1 is generally made of commercially available steel structural materials such as angle materials, channel materials, or square pipe materials joined by welding. The structure is such that a frame 10 as shown in FIG. 2 is formed, and an outer plate 11 is attached to the outside of this frame 10 by screws.

A flat steel plate may be used as it is for the outer plate 11, but as shown in FIG. Often screwed on. A heat insulating material 16 such as glass wool is attached to the inside of the outer panel 11, and a packing 17 with a rectangular cross section is attached to the inside of the periphery, and the packing 17 is attached to the frame 10 with screws 15.
The airtightness of the casing 1 is maintained by pressure contact with the casing 1.
Further, a drain pan 18 is provided at the bottom of the casing 1, and its peripheral edge 18a extends slightly outward from the lower edge of the outer panel 11 to collect water droplets due to condensation formed on the exposed edges of the frame 10. There is.

By the way, as mentioned above, the packing 1 with a rectangular cross section
In the case of a structure in which 7 is pressed against the frame 10 by screws 15, the contact area between the gasket 17 and the frame 10 is relatively large, so it is difficult to ensure that the entire contact surface is in close contact with each other to the extent that airtightness is maintained. This is surprisingly difficult and prone to leaks, and is a major factor in reducing the performance of air conditioners. Even if the packing 17 is made thicker to eliminate this leak,
Pressure welding using scattered screws does not apply a uniform force to the entire seal, so it is not possible to increase the pressure welding force. Also, since the outer plate 11 is made of a thin steel plate, if the screws 15 are tightened too tightly, the outer plate 11 may be deformed. In order to prevent this deformation, it is common practice to provide a reinforcing material 19 near the screw 15 as shown in FIG. There was a problem that if the accuracy was low, sufficient airtightness could not be obtained.

The present invention focused on these problems and was developed with the aim of providing a casing with a simple structure and good airtightness. A gasket having a U-shaped cross section is attached to the entire circumference of the edge of the bent piece, and the bent piece is pressed against the frame via the gasket by tightening the outer plate mounting screws. There is. In other words, according to the present invention, since the packing and the frame are in linear contact with each other, it is possible to securely bring them into close contact with each other with a pressure force that is smaller than that of conventional surface contact. Moreover, the pressure contact force causes the bent piece to directly contact the packing. Due to the biting structure, a casing with a small amount of leakage can be obtained.

FIG. 4 is a sectional view of the edge part of the casing. Reference numeral 21 is an angle material that constitutes the frame 10, 22 is a gasket attached to the bent piece 14 of the outer panel 11, and 23 is an angle material that forms the outer panel 11. This is a screw for attaching to 21. Patsukin 22 is the fifth
As shown in the figure, it has an elongated U-shape as a whole, and has a cross-sectional shape with a side piece 24 protruding at an angle of about 45 degrees from the folded part of the U-shape, and is made of chloroprene rubber. It is molded using weather-resistant synthetic rubber or synthetic resin materials such as. Also, the screw 23 has a large diameter portion 2 under the neck.
5 is provided to form a stepped portion 26, making it a tatsupin screw with a seat.

When attaching the outer panel 11, attach the gasket 22 to the edge of the bent piece 14 around the entire circumference, insert the screw 23 into the mounting hole 27 of the outer panel 11, and insert it into the mounting hole 28 of the angle member 21. By screwing in, the bent piece 14 is pressed against the angle member 21 via the packing 22. As a result, the packing 22 and the angle material 21
The two are in close contact with each other on a nearly linear contact surface to obtain good airtightness, and the pressure contact force is directly applied to the packing 22 in the direction of the bent piece 14 perpendicular to the outer panel 11, so that the pressure contact force is increased accordingly. becomes stronger and leaks are reliably prevented.

The dimensions of each part of the screw 23 are selected so that an appropriate tightening force can be obtained when the screw 23 is tightened to a position where the stepped portion 26 contacts the angle member 21. Therefore, just the right amount of tightening force is automatically obtained, making work easier.
There is no need for the reinforcing material used in the past. Furthermore, when the side piece 24 is provided on the packing 22, the side piece 24 is attached to the bent piece 14 with the side piece 24 facing outward, so that the edge part of the angle member 21 is covered by the side piece 24, and the exposed part is not exposed. It disappears. Therefore, in the conventional structure, the edge part is exposed as shown in Fig. 3, so the condensation phenomenon that occurs on this exposed part is eliminated, and the drain pan is extended outward from the lower edge of the outer panel 11 to collect water droplets. The structure is simple as no structure is required, and there is no need to apply waterproof or rust-proof coatings to exposed parts, especially when installing outdoors.

As described above, the present invention attaches a gasket having a U-shaped cross section to a bent piece on the periphery of the outer panel, and presses the bent piece to the frame via the gasket by tightening the outer plate mounting screw. It is possible to securely adhere and maintain airtightness with a relatively small pressure welding force, there is no risk of deforming the outer panel due to large clamping force, and the simple structure reduces leakage. This makes it possible to obtain a casing that can fully demonstrate the performance of the air conditioner.
