Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a seed sterilizing agent containing (-)-(E)-1-(2,4- dichlorophenyl)-4,4-dimethyl-2-(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)-1-penten-3-ol as an active compo nent and exhibiting excellent effect at a low rate of application. CONSTITUTION:The objective seed sterilizing agent contains (-)-(E)-1-(2,4- dichlorophenyl)-4,4-dimethyl-2-(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)-1-penten-3-ol (a known fungicidal compound) as an active component. The agent exhibits excellent controlling effect against seed-infective blights at a low dose, has broad fungicidal spectrum and gives stable controlling effect even against microbial strain resistant to existing pesticides. The amount of the compound in the agent is 0.1-99.9wt%, preferably 0.2-80wt%. The agent is effective against various plant blight pathogens such as Septoria tritici, Leptosphaeria nodorum, Tilletia caries, Fusarium sp. (pathogens of wheat blights), Pyricularia oryzae (pathogen of rice blast), etc.
