Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a mowing disc which requires no polishing, by providing such an arrangement that six of thin steel strips each formed, in lower section in the rotating direction, with a cut-out part which is hooked on two projections on the associated leaf spring, are fitted in a rotary disc, radially of the latter. CONSTITUTION:For example, a cut-out having dimensions of 1mm width and 2mm length is formed in a steel strip having dimensions of 10mm width and 75mm length and made of a steel plate having a thickness from 0.5 to 0.3mm, downward in the rotating direction. The thus formed cut-out is hooked onto projections formed on a leaf spring 2 to prevent the steel strip 1 from being exerted with a force which tends to move the steel strip 1 outward. Six of such steel strips are prepared and are fitted in a rotary disc so that they extend radially from the center of the disc at a leading angle of 15 deg. with respect to the rotating direction. The cutting capability line of each steel strip 1 has about 5mm while the adjusting capability of each leaf spring 2 is 2mm, and therefore, when the cutting capability line is reduced to 2mm, the leaf spring 2 is raised to obtain a capacity of 3mm. As a result it is possible to eliminate the necessity of polishing the steel strips severing as a cutter.
