Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a air cleaner excellent in properties of adsorbing and deodoring oil smoke, irritating odor and the like by forming an adsorbing and deodoring portion with an adsorptive layer consisting mainly of a clay mineral of hydrous magnesium silicate. CONSTITUTION:A blower consisting a motor and an axial flow fan is disposed in a housing 11. An air intake port 12 an an air inlet portion is provided on one surface of the housing 11 of the air cleaner 10, and an adsorptive and deodoring portion 13 is provided between the air intake port 12 and the fan. The adsorptive and deodoring portion 13 consists of a first adsorptive layer 14 provided on the side of the air intake port 12 and a second adsorptive layer 15 provided on the side of the fan. The first adsorptive layer 14 is a fibrous body of synthetic resin constituted in the form of a filter, while the second adsorptive layer 15 is prepared by causing granular sepiolite to adhere to a net-like textile formed by metal fibers with a sizing material. The first adsorptive layer 14 adsorbs dusts and dirts in inlet air and the second adsorptive layer 15 filters oil contents and irritating gaseous substances in inlet air.

2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, opportunities to eat while cooking on a cooking table have increased indoors, and cooking utensils such as cooking tables and simple hot plates have become commonplace in homes. However, when eating while cooking in this way, smoke (particularly oily smoke) and odors are generated and fill the room, which can even spoil the atmosphere of the meal. In addition, there is a problem that these smoke and odors adhere to furniture, curtains, walls, etc.

Next, a valve as a binder and aluminum sulfate as an additive are added to this aqueous dispersion of clay minerals, and the mixture is mixed and dispersed. Furthermore, a synthetic emulsion or the like as a binder is added and mixed until it is sufficiently dispersed, and then a paper is made by a paper making method and dried to form a sheet-like adsorption sheet. In addition, after simply defibrating the clay mineral raw stone and dividing it into short fibers,
An adsorption sheet may be obtained by mixing water and a small amount of a binder, such as SBR (styrene butadiene rubber), cornstarch, a glue material such as PVA, or a valve, using a mold, and drying the mixture. Next, desired air permeability is imparted to this adsorption sheet by press machining or the like.

The adsorption/deodorization section is disposed at at least a portion of an appropriate location of the air passage on the suction side or the discharge side of the air purifier. In this case, it is preferable to arrange the blower on the suction side of the ventilation fan because it prevents the blower from becoming dirty. In addition, it is preferable that the adsorption/deodorization section is a highly breathable porous body or a fine fibrous filter disposed perpendicularly to the air passage, since the contact area becomes large and the adsorption/odor absorption effect is excellent.
