Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition useful as a nutrient assistant food, by removing metallic component from brown algae as far as possible using an acid, bonding a metal such as calcium, magnesium, iron, etc., to the demetallized algae, adjusting the algae to a specific pH and dehydrating and solidifying the product. CONSTITUTION:Metallic component is removed from brown algae as far as possible using an acid. The treated algae is bonded with a metal selected from calcium, magnesium and iron in an aqueous solution, adjusted to 6-7pH, dehydrated and solidified to obtain the objective composition for oral administration. When the metal-bonded marine algae composition is administered together with other food or feed to human or animal, sodium ion is adsorbed to suppress the absorption of sodium ion through digestive tracts and prevent hypertension and cerebral apolexy caused by excessive intake of sodium ion. Furthermore, released calcium or magnesium can be easily absorbed through digestive tracts as a solution and ferrous ion is also absorbed easily through the digestive tracts as ferric ion.

[Detailed Description of the Invention] [Field of Industrial Application] The present invention aims to further improve the antihypertensive and salt-reducing effects of seaweeds, particularly brown algae, by adding calcium, magnesium or iron to them. The present invention relates to providing a health or nutritional food composition in which ions are bound.

First, the present inventor provided a composition using brown algae as a raw material, which was treated with an inorganic acid etc. to demetalize it, and then treated with a potassium ion solution to dehydrate and solidify it.
Experiments on animals (rats) demonstrated that this composition has the effect of reducing the amount of IJum excreted and increasing the amount of potassium excreted, and also has the effect of reducing the number of deaths due to cerebral palsy. In other words, a patent application was filed under the name Active Fiber (AFJ) (Japanese Patent Application No. 59-15,821 and Japanese Patent Application No. 129-02-1982)
No. 8).

As mentioned above, the present inventor focused on the fact that the so-called active fibers of brown algae that bind potassium have special physiological effects, and created active fibers that combine essential physiological metals other than potassium, such as calcium, magnesium, and iron. We expected that fiber would be effective in promoting general absorption from the gastrointestinal tract or in replenishing these minerals in cases of certain types of absorption disorders, and we conducted experiments and were able to demonstrate this effectiveness.

The physiological activity of the product of the present invention is shown in the following animal experiments: Experimental method: Adding 1 1% each of AFCa%AFM or AFFt to the feed.
The AFCa group, the AFMq group, and the AFFt group, each consisting of 610 hypertensive (SHIt) rats, were bred. A control group consisting of 10 SHR rats was fed with additive-free feed. Blood pressure and body weight were measured on a predetermined day after the start of the experiment. Furthermore, on the 100th day after the start of the experiment, the rats in each group were transferred to a urine collection gauge to collect urine, and the calcium and magnesium content in the urine was determined. moreover,
Blood was collected from rats in the AFFe-fed group after the end of the experiment, and the iron content was quantified.

Thus, AFCa, AFMp and AFFe of the present invention
When administered to humans or animals along with other feeds, sodium ions are adsorbed and inhibit absorption from the gastrointestinal tract.) It is expected to be effective in preventing hypertension and stroke caused by excessive intake of IJium ions. Calcium or magnesium released as a solution is easily absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract as a solution, and ferrous ions are also easily absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract as divalent iron ions, and each ion is replenished to the body and has an effect. It is believed that this plays a role in bringing about this.
