Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the erosion of the refractory body at the hot spot part of an LF ladle by blowing an inert gas from a porous plug while under refining a liquid metal with its heating. CONSTITUTION:A molten steel 6 and slag 7 are melted in an LF plate and the heating is performed by an electrode 4 with blowing an inert gas from the lower part porous plug 5. The inert gas is further blown by setting up a porous plug 8 at the side face of the refactory body 2 of the lower part of a slag line refactory body 3. In this way the slag 7 is sufficiently stirred and the contact area of the refactory body and slag can be reduced as well. Consequently the using times of the refactory body is increased and the service life of the refactory body can be expended remarkably since the erosion of the refactory body at the hot spot part of the LF ladle is reduced.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [Field of Application of the Invention] The present invention relates to ladle refining, and particularly to a method suitable for preventing melting loss of refractories at hot spots in a ladle.

As described in the publication, inert gas is blown from the bottom and its stirring power suppresses abnormal heating of the slag.
We have tried to prevent melting of the refractories in the slag line, but if the slag near the electrode (arc spot) becomes locally hot or if the lower porous position is eccentric, stirring may be difficult. The slag on the anti-porous side becomes locally hot due to the non-uniformity.

[Object of the Invention] The object of the present invention is to install a porous plug on the side wall below the slag line refractories in the hot spot portion and blow inert gas, thereby preventing melting and damage of the refractory in the hot spot portion due to the stirring force. The purpose is to provide a method to prevent this.

In order to prevent melt damage in hot spot areas, it is effective to prevent the slag in these areas from becoming locally heated. Therefore, in the present invention, by installing a porous plug on the lower side wall of the slag line in the hot spot area and blowing inert gas into it, the slag in the hot spot area is sufficiently stirred, and at the same time, the contact area between the refractory and the slag is reduced. , which is designed to prevent melting and damage of refractories.

The LF ladle 1 is lined with a refractory 2 and a slag line refractory 3. A melt 1fI6 and a slag 7 are melted on the upper surface of the ladle, and heating is performed by an electrode 4 while blowing an inert gas through a lower porous plug 5. Furthermore, by installing a porous plug 8 from the side into the refractory 2 below the slag line refractory 3 and blowing inert gas,
The slag is stirred above the porous plug 8 to prevent melting and loss of the slag line refractories in this area.

According to the present invention, since the erosion of the refractory in the hot spot part of the LF ladle is reduced, the refractory in the slag line part of the LF ladle, which had to be replaced after about 25 uses, can be used more than 35 times. This has the effect of greatly extending the life of refractories.
