Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the occurrence of head clogging to give warning by providing a means which detects a reproduced signal of the whole of recording tracks to detect the fall of the level of this signal and a means which detects the time width of the fall of the level and controlling the detection sensitivity of the time width. CONSTITUTION:If the time width of the fall of the level of the reproduced output signal is short, the output of an integrator 17 does not reach the comparison voltage outputted from a reference voltage generator 18, and the occurrence of head clogging is not detected. However, when this state continues, the output of the integrator 17 is integrated, and this output reaches the comparison voltage outputted from the reference voltage generator 18, and the occurrence of head clogging is detected. The reset time of the integrator 17 is changed to control the sensitivity with which the time width of the fall of the level of the reproduced output signal is detected. The output of the comparator 19 is rectified by a rectifier 20 and is compared with the comparison voltage outputted from a reference voltage generator 21 by a comparator 22, and a head clogging detection pulse (g) is generated to give warning.

First, a fixed head 31 reproduces a portion of each recording track, an amplifier 32 amplifies this reproduced signal, and a filter 33 removes unnecessary components. Figure 4 shows this output. From this output, the reproduced signal is detected by the reproduced signal detector 34 as shown in FIG. 4, the reference voltage generator 35 generates a reference voltage, and the comparator 36 compares it. A decrease in the level of the reproduced signal can be detected. When a non-recording state occurs due to head clogging, a pulse corresponding to this period is generated in the output of the comparator 36 as shown in the fourth figure. Furthermore, since the reference voltage is generated from the reproduced signal, even if the absolute level of the reproduced signal decreases, the reference voltage will also decrease in the same way as the reproduced signal, and the detection sensitivity will not change. This is because they don't judge it as a blockage. The output of the comparator 36 is expanded by a certain amount in the pulse expander 37 as shown in Figure 4, and the output of the comparator 3 is

By changing the amount of expansion by the pulse expander 37, it is possible to change the sensitivity for detecting the width of the level of decline in the reproduced signal. The pulse shaper 39 stretches the NAND gate 38 by a certain amount as shown in FIG. 4, shapes the pulse into a warning pulse, and outputs the pulse.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, in the above configuration, since a fixed head is used, only a portion of each recording track is detected, and the portion of the recording track that is not detected may be affected by head clogging. If there is no recording for a certain period of time, and since the time width is detected by comparing it with the pulse width of a certain period of time, if no recording occurs for a short period of time, The problem is that it is impossible to determine that the head is clogged and issue a warning.

In view of the above problems, the present invention uses a rotating head instead of a fixed head to detect the reproduced signal, constantly monitors the entire recording track, and detects the time width of the decreased level of the reproduced signal by comparing it with a fixed time pulse. The detection sensitivity is controlled by integrating the pulse and comparing it with a reference voltage, so that if a short period of continuous non-recording occurs, the integrated value is integrated and falls, and it is determined that the playback signal level has decreased. To provide a head clogging detection device which monitors the entire recording track and can determine that head clogging has occurred and issue a warning even when a short period of continuous non-recording occurs.

According to the above-described structure, the fixed head becomes a rotary head, and the rotary head monitors the entire recording track to detect head clogging, and the reproduced output signal from the head is passed through an automatic gain control circuit. , the detection of a drop in the playback output signal level is not affected by the absolute level of the signal level, and the detection pulse is integrated and compared with a reference voltage to control the detection sensitivity, thereby determining the time of the drop level of the playback signal. Even if the width exceeds a certain period of time, or if a drop in the reproduced output signal occurs continuously in a short period of time, it is possible to detect clogging of the head and issue a warning.

Even if the absolute amount of the reproduction output level of the rotary head 11 changes, since the automatic gain control device 13 controls the output to be constant, the detection sensitivity of the comparator 16 does not change. The output of the automatic gain control device 13 is detected by the reproduced signal detector 14 as shown in FIG.
The comparator 16 compares the output of the pressure with the comparative whistle pressure. When a reproduced output signal as shown in FIG. 2A is generated, the output of the comparator 16 is output as shown in FIG. 2C. This output is integrated by an integrator 1, as shown in FIG. 2d, and compared with the comparison voltage output from the reference voltage generator 18 by a comparator 19, and output as shown in FIG. 2e. If the time width of the decreasing level of the reproduced output signal is short, the output of the integrator 17 does not reach the comparison voltage of the output of the reference voltage generator 18, and the occurrence of head clogging is not detected. However, if this condition occurs continuously, the output of the integrator 17 is integrated and reaches the comparison voltage of the output of the reference voltage generator 18, making it possible to detect the occurrence of head clogging. By changing the integration time of the integrator 17, the sensitivity for detecting the time width of the drop level of the reproduced output signal can be controlled. The output of the comparator 19 is rectified by the rectifier 20 as shown in FIG.
It operates to generate a head clogging detection pulse and issue a warning as shown in FIG. 2q. By controlling the discharge time of the output of the rectifier 20, it is possible to change the output width of the head clogging BS output pulse.
