Abstract

PURPOSE:To heighten the strength of caulking joint of a spring and to simplify assembling by disposing spring charging holes for charging springs and coving holes for facilitating caulking in a metallic plate comprising a narrow band member. CONSTITUTION:Plural pairs of spring charging hole 2 and coving hole 3 which communicate with each other are bored at suitable spaces in a metallic plate 1 comprising a rectilinear or bent line-like band member. The coving hole 3 is provided for performing caulking easily and completely in the latter caulking process. Subsequently, one end with a smaller diameter than the other portions of the spring 4 is charged in the spring charging hole 2, and the metallic plate 1 is pressed from the side to be caulked.

<Prior Art and its Problems> Automatic transmissions for vehicles use a spring assembly in which a plurality of springs are erected on one side of an annular plate at a distance from each other. As shown in Japanese Patent Publication No. 56-47419, for example, such a spring assembly is made by forming a protrusion on one side of an annular plate by machining or the like, and fitting one end of the spring into the protrusion. There is a structure in which a spring is attached by expanding the protruding part.

However, such devices in which a spring is attached to the protruding portion have the problem that the protruding portion may become fatigued and damaged with use, and that assembly is also time-consuming.

<Means for Solving the Problems> The present invention aims to solve the above-mentioned problems and provide a method for easily manufacturing a spring assembly with high strength. The diameter of the metal plate, which is made of a narrow annular strip and is spaced apart from each other, is larger than the outer diameter of the charging end of the spring.
A large spring insertion hole and a required number of overhang holes that communicate with the spring insertion hole and overhang toward the outer circumference of the insertion hole are provided, and one end of the insertion hole is made smaller in diameter than the other part. This method of manufacturing a spring assembly is characterized in that after one end of the spring is inserted into the spring insertion hole, the metal plate is pressed and caulked from the side to fix the spring.

The metal plate of the present invention has an annular shape when the spring assembly is used in a vehicle transmission, and the annular plate can be formed by pressing or bending a deformed material into an annular shape. It can be made by welding both ends of the shiso. The metal plate is not limited to the above-mentioned annular shape, but can be of various shapes, such as a straight shape or a curved shape, depending on the shape of the intended spring assembly.

<Operation> The method of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
From the process of inserting a plurality of pairs of spring insertion holes (2) and overhang holes (3) that communicate with each other at appropriate intervals in an annular metal plate (1) as shown in the figure. It begins. This overhanging hole (3) is provided so that caulking can be performed easily and sufficiently in the later caulking process, and is shown in (a), (b), and (2) in Figure 2.
As shown in c) and (d), one or more spring insertion holes are provided in the outer circumferential direction around the spring insertion hole (2).

Next, insert one end of the spring (4), which has a smaller diameter than the other part, into the spring insertion hole (2) as shown in Figure 3, and press it from the side of the metal plate 1-(1). At this time, since the overhang hole (3) is provided, the spring insertion hole (2) itself becomes easily deformed as the overhang hole (3) deforms to become narrower. Moreover, since the spring (4) has an outward repulsive force, the inner circumferential edge of the spring insertion hole (2) is bitten into the spring (4), and a strong caulking is performed. A spring assembly as shown in Figure 4 is completed.

In addition, in the method of the present invention, the spring (4) is a metal plate (
1), since it can be installed with sufficient perpendicularity,
After that, there is no need to grind the spring tip surface, which simplifies the process, but if even higher precision is required, the spring tip surface may be ground after assembly as shown in Figure 4. .

An annular metal plate with an outer diameter of 167.4n+m formed from a steel plate with a width of 8.6 mm and a thickness of 2.0 mm has a spring insertion hole with an inner diameter of 3.8 mm and a length of 2 mm on both sides of the insertion hole by press punching. Overhanging holes with a diameter of .1 mm and a width of 2.0III11 and rounded ends were provided at 20 locations on each equally spaced device so as to communicate with the spring insertion hole.

Next, the total length is 22.5 mm, and the outer diameter of the 3 turns at one end is 3 mm.
, 7mm, and the other windings have an outer diameter of 5rm.Insert the three windings at the small diameter end of the spring into the spring insertion hole of the metal plate, abut the core metal on the inner opening side of the metal plate, and The spring was attached to the metal plate by caulking from the side using a pressing jig.

In the resulting spring assembly, the overhanging hole drilled in the metal plate is deformed into a crushed form, and the spring insertion hole is also compressed, and the spring and metal plate are wedged into each other, resulting in a high bonding strength. Ta.

<Effects of the Invention> As described above, according to the method of the present invention, since the overhanging hole is provided in communication with the spring insertion hole for inserting the spring, the overhang hole is provided during the press caulking process. The overhanging hole can be deformed with a small pressing force, and therefore the spring insertion hole can be easily deformed, and as a result, a sufficiently strong caulked joint can be made with a small pressing force.

In addition, the spring used has one end with a smaller diameter than the other part, so it has the necessary spring force without making the insertion hole unnecessarily large, and the width of the metal plate is also narrow. Therefore, there is no need to change the size of other components when used in a transmission, etc., and a sufficient caulking effect can be achieved with a small caulking allowance.

Further, the spring assembly obtained by the method of the present invention has a feature of high strength because it does not use members such as protrusions that are prone to fatigue failure.
