Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the water absorbing speed of a water removing roller for sheet etc. by forming at least one of the drum component members from a water absorptive member and by furnishing a means to remove water from this water absorptive member through the shaft part of the roller. CONSTITUTION:This water removing roller is made in such a construction that a water absorptive member of paper type 11 is arranged over a core part 12. This water absorptive member 11 increases its coarseness as approaching the core so as to promote movement of water from the roller surface to the core part. The core part 12 is made in the form of a metal cylinder provided with a number of pores 120 and blocked at its one end, and the interior space constitutes an exhaust part 121 for the water absorbed, wherefrom the water is exhausted by a suction pipe 122 sealed with an O-ring 13. This enables accomplishment of water absorbing speed 3-5 times as high as that of conventional arrangement, and thus this is suitable for continuous high-speed processing and capable of lasting processing through elimination of the saturated processing quantity as before.

When continuously removing water from a sheet that has moisture on its surface, it is generally done by pressing a blade or roller against the moisture-containing side of the sheet, or by sandwiching or pressing the sheet between a pair of opposing rolls. Water adhering to the surface of the sheet is removed. Note that "water" used in the description of the present invention, such as water-absorbing water and adhering water, includes cases where solutes of various solutions are included. The constituent members of the roller body of the roller (hereinafter referred to as roller members) are made of water-absorbing cloth, non-woven fabric, natural or synthetic leather, or porous material having continuous or discontinuous pores for the purpose of water removal. Rubber or plastic is used as the material. In addition, the water absorption capacity of the water-absorbing member in the Eel Roller shows its water removal effect until there is sufficient water absorption capacity, but after the capacity is saturated, there is no choice between rollers that do not have a water-absorbing member. . In addition, conventional rollers using a single water-absorbing member cannot perform continuous and rapid processing, but the water absorption speed is slow even when there is enough water absorption capacity in the wheel body, and water removal is difficult. The purpose is not fully achieved. As mentioned above, the attached water remaining on the sheet and carried out due to insufficient water removal, generally the attached liquid, contaminates the bath treatment solution when the next bath treatment is scheduled. It lowers the reliability of the process and shortens the life of the solution, or if the next step is drying, it causes uneven drying such as tar marks and lowers the drying efficiency.

Water removal characterized by having at least a part of the body constituent member made of a water-absorbing member, and having a water-removing means for removing water contained in the water-absorbing member through a small portion of the roller. Accomplished by rollers. Next, the present invention will be explained in detail. The water absorbent member used in the present invention may be made of a single material or a combination of different materials. For example, paper, cloth, non-woven fabric, rounded fibrous lumps, natural or synthetic leather, continuous porous rubber or resin, porous ceramics, etc. can be used depending on the form of use. These water-absorbing members preferably have a large water-absorbing capacity per unit volume or are easily wetted so that the liquid in contact with the roller surface is drawn into the interior from at least that surface. Alternatively, when using the same water-absorbing member, the capillary density is controlled to increase the water-absorbing capacity per unit volume inside. The arrangement or arrangement may be discrete or continuous from the roller surface towards the inner roller core. Further, the roller body may have a structure in which a water-absorbing member and an anisotropic water-permeable coating are combined so that the water permeation direction is directed toward the roller core, or the structure may be made into a multilayer structure to transfer water absorbed from the conveyed object from the roller surface to the roller core. It may also be provided with a function of transporting in the same direction. By combining the specifications of the core material and the rotating shaft with the water removal means according to the present invention that operates via the shaft portion of the roller, the roll can be freely rotated and the liquid phase or liquid phase of water absorbed by the shaft portion can be removed. A discharge part in the form of a gas phase can be provided (for example, in the inner space of the core cylinder). In order to fully demonstrate the function of the water removal means, the core material is preferably a porous ceramic cylinder, a perforated metal cylinder, or the like. The water removal function may be carried out by blowing warm air into the core to promote the diffusion or permeation of water from the dry surface to the core to keep the surface always in a state of high water absorption efficiency, or by sucking out water by suction to meet the above conditions. You should show up. In the case of suction, it may be done from both sides of the core material, or it may be done by blocking one side and sucking out to the other side. Further, the water-absorbing member portion may be arranged in a plurality of sections on one roller depending on the number of lanes of sheets to be processed. Further, the rollers of the present invention may be used to sandwich or press the conveyed object, or may be arranged at a plurality of points on the conveyance path of the conveyed object. Next, embodiments of the present invention will be described by way of examples. FIG. 1 shows a cross section of a water removal roller that uses air suction to suck out water absorbed by a water absorbing member. Reference numeral 11 denotes a paper water-absorbing member, and the paper quality becomes rougher as it approaches the core, so that water moves from the roller surface to the core. Reference numeral 12 denotes a core portion, which is a perforated metal cylinder having a large number of holes 120 and closed at one end, and its inner space serves as a discharge portion 121 for absorbed water. 122 is the discharge section 1
This is a water outlet that also serves as a suction pipe for discharging water from 21 to the outside. 13 is an O-ring provided between the suction pipe rollers. FIG. 2 is a sectional view showing an example of the hot air blowing method. 21
is a water-absorbing member made of porous ceramic, the structure of which becomes coarser from the surface of the roller toward the core, and water is transported through it. 22 is a hollow roller pongee with a warm air passage inside. 221 is a discharge part of absorbed water, 23 is a hot air generator,
231 is a hot air blowing pipe.

The roller of the present invention has a water absorption speed five times or more compared to conventional rollers, and is suitable for continuous conveyance processing. In addition, the process saturation, which was unavoidable with conventional rollers, is eliminated, making permanent processing possible.
