Abstract

PURPOSE:To conserve the labor of manufacturing and assembling by making accuracy easy to develop and simplifying a structure and to reduce load of rotation by realizing wt. reduction while attaining cost reduction, by squeezing both ends of an equal diameter pipe to form a main body part having a large diameter and shafts parts each having a small diameter coaxial to the main body and respectively extending to the outside from both ends of said main body part while providing an elastic layer to the outer periphery of the main body part. CONSTITUTION:A platen consists of a pipe part 10 and an elastic layer 11. For example, the pipe part 10 is formed by using a tubular material made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy and integrally constituted of a main body part 12 having a large diameter and shaft parts 13 each having a small diameter by a method wherein both ends of the tubular material are squeezed by swaging and both ends or an outer diameter are finished by cutting processing and surface treatment such as alumite treatment, chromium plating or the spraying of a resin is performed if necessary. The elastic layer 11 is formed by a method wherein rubber subjected to extrusion processing is fitted to the outer periphery of the main body part 12 under pressure and surface finishing is applied to the outer surface of the rubber layer by a polishing plate. The pipe part 3 is closed by the shaft parts 13 to form the hollow part 14 in the main body part 12 to make it possible to prevent the leakage of printing sound to the outside.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION This invention can be applied to printing devices such as wire dot digital inkjet printers, plotters, and typewriters. Specifically, in such a printing device, the present invention relates to a platen that is placed between the left and right support frames of the main body of the device, sets printing paper, and sequentially conveys the paper as the recording head prints on the paper.

Conventionally, this type of platen has been constructed by wrapping a rubber pipe (2) around the outer periphery of a steel pipe (1) to form a roller main body (3), as shown in FIG. 5, for example.

Such a platen is, for example, hung between support frames on both the left and right sides of the main body of the printing apparatus, and is rotatably supported. Thus, the rotation of a platen drive motor such as a step motor is transmitted, and the paper rotates along with printing to appropriately feed the paper set on the platen.

However, in the conventional platen described above, the shaft parts (4), (4), (9), and (9) are formed by press-fitting separate rods into the roller body parts (3) and (7) one by one. Because of its structure, it has drawbacks in terms of accuracy and takes time to manufacture and assemble. In addition, since a steel pipe (1), a metal core (5), etc. are used together with the aluminum plate, the platen as a whole becomes expensive and extremely heavy, which is undesirable in terms of its rotational drive.

1-1. Therefore, the platen of the printing device according to the present invention has a large diameter main body (12) by squeezing both ends of the equal diameter pipe (10).
It is characterized by forming small-diameter shaft parts (13) (13) coaxial with the main body and extending outward from both ends thereof, respectively, and providing an elastic layer (11) on the outer periphery of the main body (12). do.

For the pipe section (10), for example, a pipe material made of aluminum or aluminum alloy is used, and after swaging both ends of the pipe material, turning is performed to finish both ends and the outer diameter, and if necessary, anodizing, chrome plating, etc. The resin is sprayed on the surface and the large diameter main body (1
2) and small-diameter shaft parts (13) coaxial with the main body and extending outward from both ends of the main body. On the other hand, the elastic layer (11) is formed by press-fitting extruded rubber into the outer periphery of the aforementioned main body (12), and finishing the outer surface with a grinder.

Further, as described above, the platen of the present invention is configured such that the pipe portion (10) is surface-treated to provide wear resistance. However, in this platen, the part that particularly requires wear resistance is the part where the bearing members of the shaft parts (13) and (13) are attached, so in this invention, the surface treatment of the pipe part (10) is Instead, for example, as shown in Fig. 4, rings (16) (16) are press-fitted onto the outer periphery of the shaft parts (13) (13), and these rings (16) (16) improve the wear resistance of the bearing part. It may also be possible to ensure that These rings (16) and (16) are made of plastic, oil-impregnated metal, or the like.
