Conventionally, VHF band high-frequency distributor/synthesizers have generally had a structure in which wires are wound around a spectacle-shaped ferrite core. There was a practical limit to increasing power due to the temperature rise due to heat generation caused by loss.

In FIGS. 1 and 2, a ferrite core 1 for use in a power distribution/synthesizer is composed of a ferrite core having an approximately rectangular parallelepiped shape, and has a pair of through holes 4A and 4B penetrating from the front side 2 to the back side 3. have. The top surface 5 and the bottom surface 6 are wide flat surfaces, set to have the largest area compared to other surfaces, and are fixed to a case made of aluminum or the like using a heat-resistant adhesive with good thermal conductivity. There is. In addition, approximately arcuate notch grooves 8A and 8B are formed on both side surfaces 7 in parallel to the top and bottom surfaces, thereby reducing the volume of the core, improving high frequency characteristics, and increasing the surface area. By increasing the heat dissipation area, the heat dissipation effect into the air is improved. Furthermore, the substantially arcuate notch grooves 8A and 8B can be used as recesses for holding the core during automatic assembly, and can also indirectly display the mounting surfaces (top surface, bottom surface).

(1) Since the substantially arc-shaped notch grooves 8A and 8B are formed on both sides of the core, it is possible to reduce the volume of the core and improve high frequency characteristics. Therefore, it is possible to reduce heat generation due to core loss. In other words, the core cross-sectional area of the portion around the through-holes 4A, 4B through which the magnetic flux passes is sufficient as long as it is necessary, and the excess wall thickness on the outside of the through-holes is cut into the notch grooves 8A, 8.
By cutting with B, it is possible to prevent loss due to the presence of excess core material.

(2) Due to the presence of the substantially arcuate notched grooves 8A and 8B, the core surface area can be increased, and the heat dissipation effect into the air can be improved.

(3) Due to the reasons mentioned in (1) and (2) above, it is possible to manufacture a wideband power distribution/synthesizer in the several tens of watt class in the VHF band. Further, it is possible to form a device with the same power as the conventional device in a smaller size.

(4) Since the temperature rise in the core can be kept low, the core can be attached to the case using a heat-resistant adhesive, which can reduce the number of steps. Moreover, the small size is suitable for assembly on a hybrid IC board.
