Abstract

PURPOSE:To make an operator freely and easily know the content of an optional teletext program, by detecting the number and sending and displaying form of a sending program and presence/absence of additional sound information in accordance with data contained in received teletext signals and displaying them on the screen of a CRT as an index table. CONSTITUTION:A main CPU 19 discriminates the kind of a program whether it is a collective type, complementary type, or superimposed dialogue type from program sending and displaying form (PTC) data at the time of a page data header (PACI) and program data header (PRCI) and sets each mode in a form flag. On the other hand, a sub-CPU 24 displays an index table on the screen of a CRT 7 as a service picture of sending programs when an operator makes input through an index key. The index table shows program numbers obtained from a PR table in a data memory 22 and, at the same time, the characters, graphics, and background BGC of the displayed program numbers in the index table are respectively changed in place and color in corresponding with the contents of the form flags. Then the sending and displaying form of an arriving program and presence/absence of melody are displayed.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION (Technical Field) The present invention relates to technology for a teletext receiver, and more specifically, extracts a teletext signal from a multiplexed television signal on which the teletext signal is superimposed and stores the teletext signal in a data memory. By sequentially storing the data stored in the data memory, converting it into output data, and providing it to the CRT and speaker, the contents of the teletext signal can be displayed on the screen of the CRT, and additional sound information can be transmitted from the speaker. The present invention relates to a teletext receiver configured to be able to output.

<Prior Art> Such a teletext receiver utilizes the vertical blanking period of a television video signal to receive an encoded teletext signal transmitted in data packets whose unit length is the horizontal scanning period. is received, and the characters and simple graphic information included in the teletext signal are played back and displayed on the CRT screen, and if there is additional sound information (melody), the additional sound information can be output from the speaker. It is what was done.

One of these is the batch program type, in which all pages of a program are sent out at once and stored in memory, and the pages can be turned at will according to the operator's will (for example, used for stock information, cooking ingredient lists, etc.) The other type is the complementary program type, which sends out a text screen that complements the currently airing TV program (for example, it is used for cooking ingredient lists, quiz answers, etc.). One is the so-called subtitle program type, in which the display timing is synchronized with the TV image and superimposed (for example, used to superimpose subtitles on drama programs or superimpose lyrics on popular music programs), and others are not currently implemented. It is expected that even more diverse transmission and display formats will be considered and put into practical use in the future.

However, despite the various convenient and effective transmission/display formats and transmission of additional sound information as mentioned above being carried out on the transmitting side of teletext programs, the operator on the receiving side does not know which program to watch. What kind of broadcasting program is the number broadcasting?
At present, there is no way to easily and arbitrarily find out whether it is in the display format or whether there is additional sound information, and therefore, it is necessary to actually receive and display the teletext program. However, there was an inconvenience in that it was not possible to check the transmission/display format of the program and the presence or absence of additional sound information.

The extracted teletext signal is converted from a serial signal to a parallel signal in a tray conversion/error correction circuit 16, and after errors are corrected, it is temporarily stored in a capture buffer 17. At this time, it is necessary to synchronize the teletext signal with the tray conversion in the tray conversion/error correction circuit 16, so the clock pulse generation circuit 13 and the framing detection and identification circuit 15 synchronize in bits and bytes. Regarding the drawing process, the sub CPU 24 calculates the address in the kanji ROM 31 from the character code stored in the data memory 22, sequentially transfers each character pattern and its display address to the display controller 27,
Accordingly, the display controller 27 sets the character pattern in the display memory 28. At this time, in order to synchronize with the television image, synchronization is achieved by the display clock generation circuit 18 and the synchronization signal generation circuit 14, and the signal is outputted to the video switching circuit 6 via the matrix circuit 29. As a result, the required character pattern is displayed on the CRT 7.

<Effects of the Invention> As is clear from the above detailed description, the teletext receiver according to the present invention can determine the broadcast program number, transmission/display format, etc. based on the data included in the received teletext signal. The system is configured to detect the type and the presence or absence of additional sound information, and to display the detected broadcast program number, the type of transmission/display format, and information indicating the presence or absence of additional sound information as an index table on the screen of the CRT. Therefore, by simply displaying the above-mentioned index table as a service screen at will, the operator on the receiving side can check not only the program number of the teletext broadcast program, but also the type of transmission/display format and the presence or absence of additional sound information. This makes it easy to check, and as a result, very effective guidelines can be obtained for selecting teletext programs, and convenient and effective transmission/display formats and additional sound implemented on the transmission side of teletext programs can be easily checked. The excellent effect of being able to fully enjoy the benefits of information has come to fruition.
