The air cleaner is equipped with a rectangular case divided into upper and lower halves, a filter element whose periphery is fixed to the joining edge of both cases, and an air flow meter housed in a clean side space formed between the filter element and one of the cases. The air flow meter integrates a clean air exhaust pipe that is fitted into a clean air outlet opened on one side of the case at one end, a meter case with an air intake port at the other end, and an exhaust pipe from the meter case. It consists of a mounting bracket part that is integrated with the base of the pipe and the periphery of the air intake port, and the bracket part on the exhaust pipe side is directly fixed to the inner surface of the case, and the bracket part on the air intake side is fixed via a mounting metal fitting. An air cleaner characterized in that the meter case is held within the case with the exhaust pipe protruding to the side of the case by being fixed to the inner surface of the case.
