った鰻の生育域にこの堆積泥がまぎれ込み、鰻の生育域
の溶存酸素を使った微生物による有機物分解反応が起こ
り、鰻の生育域の溶存酸素が減少し、鰻が窒息状態にな
る。そこで、従来、養鰻池の水質悪化を防ぐ為の堆積泥
の浄化方法として、養鰻池の四隅に設けられた水車によ
り、水面を攪拌し、養鰻池周縁に起こった水流を利用し
て、鰻の残餌や排泄物を池の中央に集積させ、この底層
の堆積泥を定期的に人力によりスコップ等ですくいあげ

にタンク7が載置され、このタンク7の上部には、揚水
袋W8が設けられている。揚水装置8の側面には、揚水
パイプ9の一端が連結され、その他端は池水中に達して
