【発明の詳細な説明】
〔発明の技術分野〕
本発明は軟質ガラス封着用に適した複合線の改良に関す
る。

従来、高出力の半導体、整流器、キャパシタおよびリレ
ーなどの特に軟質ガラス封着用金属線として電気伝導度
ならびに熱伝導度のよい純銅を芯金とし、これを熱膨張
係数が軟質ガラスに近似している鉄−ニッケル合金で被
覆した複合線が使用されていた。第2図は従来の上記複
合線の断面同厚をt(mm)とするとd/lは1ないし
2であることが一般であった。このような複合線の構成
は、銅の芯金によって電気および熱の伝導度を所望の値
にするとともに、鉄−ニッケル合金の被覆が軟質ガラス
と熱膨張係数が近似しているから軟質ガラスとの封着性
がよいと考えられていた。しかしながら、純銅の芯金と
鉄−ニッケル合金の被覆との間が、複合線加工時やガラ
スへの溶封時に加熱されると完全な密着接合を維持する
ことができなくなり、この個所から気密性を損するとい
う致命的な問題が発生した。

と熱膨張係数が近似しているから軟質ガラスとの封着性
がよいと考えられていた。しかしながら、純銅の芯金と
鉄−ニッケル合金の被覆との間が、複合線加工時やガラ
スへの溶封時に加熱されると完全な密着接合を維持する
ことができなくなり、この個所から気密性を損するとい
う致命的な問題が発生した。
本発明は上記従来の問題点に鑑みてなされたもので、軟
質ガラス封着用の金属線として使用して芯金と鉄−ニッ
ケル合金との密着性が完全で気密性を損することがなく
、シかも熱ならびに電気の伝導度がよく、軟質ガラスと
の溶封を良好に行うことが可能な改良された複合線を提
供することを目的とする。

上部芯金(5)は、たとえば直径6.6 mの銅線に肉
厚が数10μm、たとえば30μmのニッケル層を被覆
したものである。上記芯金を50重量%ニッケル、残余

水素炉内で9000C,10分間の熱処理をし、そのま
まの温度で熱間伸線を行って上記ニッケル層を被覆した
銅線の芯金に鉄−ニッケル合金管を接合する。そうして
、さらにこの線に冷間伸線と、中性または還元雰囲気で
700℃ないし800℃連続の中間焼鈍とを繰返して直
径1.OBの複合線に仕上げる。この複合線は芯金のニ
ッケル被覆銅線の直径D(m)と鉄−ニッケル合金の被
覆の肉厚T(mm)との比D/Tが1ないし2になって
いる。
まの温度で熱間伸線を行って上記ニッケル層を被覆した
銅線の芯金に鉄−ニッケル合金管を接合する。そうして
、さらにこの線に冷間伸線と、中性または還元雰囲気で
700℃ないし800℃連続の中間焼鈍とを繰返して直
径1.OBの複合線に仕上げる。この複合線は芯金のニ
ッケル被覆銅線の直径D(m)と鉄−ニッケル合金の被
覆の肉厚T(mm)との比D/Tが1ないし2になって
いる。
上記の工程によって仕上げた本発明複合線と。
従来のニッケル被覆のない銅線の芯線を鉄−ニッケル合
金で被覆した複合線とを使用して軟質ガラスパルプの端
部に封着して封着体を形成し、上記封着体を900℃に
加熱、常温冷却の熱サイクルを10回繰返した後、ガラ
スパルプ内をI X 10 torrの真空にしてパ
ルプ内の真空度の異状を試験した。
金で被覆した複合線とを使用して軟質ガラスパルプの端
部に封着して封着体を形成し、上記封着体を900℃に
加熱、常温冷却の熱サイクルを10回繰返した後、ガラ
スパルプ内をI X 10 torrの真空にしてパ
ルプ内の真空度の異状を試験した。
その結果本発明のものは試料100個全数に真空度の異
状はなかったが、従来のものは3個の異状発生があった
。

また、上記本発明品と従来品とについて電気抵抗、導電
率、熱膨張係数を測定した結果を下表に示した。電気抵
抗は30℃における抵抗値をμΩ。

くさせることができ、銅とニッケルとはその境界面にお
いて固溶体を形成するものと思われ、きわめて良好な密
着性を示し、したがって気密性がよく真空度の異状の発
生がなくなったものと思われる。実験によれば銅線に被
覆されるニッケル層の肉厚は数10μmが好ましかった
。

から、銅線と鉄−ニッケル合金との間の熱膨張差を少な
くさせることができ、銅とニッケルとはその境界面にお

着性を示し、したがって気密性がよく真空度の異状の発
生がなくなったものと思われる。実験によれば銅線に被
覆されるニッケル層の肉厚は数10μmが好ましかった
。
上記ニッケル層は、他の金属、たとえば銀の様に熱処理
時に銅の組織の中に拡散して熱処理後に銀の存在がなく
なるようなことがなく、たとえ肉薄であっても残って銅
と鉄−ニッケル合金との中間層としての働きを確実に実
行する。

本発明は銅線にニッケルを被覆した芯金な鉄−ニッケル
合金で被覆してなることを特徴とする複合線であって、
銅芯金に鉄−ニッケル合金を被覆した従来の複合線のよ
うな芯金と被覆との間から気密性を悪くするような問題
の発生がなく、シかも熱、を気の伝導性がより、高出力
の半導体やキャパシタなどの軟質ガラス封着用にきわめ
て好適な複合線を提供できる効果がある。
合金で被覆してなることを特徴とする複合線であって、
銅芯金に鉄−ニッケル合金を被覆した従来の複合線のよ
うな芯金と被覆との間から気密性を悪くするような問題
の発生がなく、シかも熱、を気の伝導性がより、高出力
の半導体やキャパシタなどの軟質ガラス封着用にきわめ
て好適な複合線を提供できる効果がある。
