Abstract

PURPOSE:To make effective the replacing operation for continuous document forms of different types by furnishing a printer with continuous document supply mechanisms multiplexly. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of continuous document supply mechanisms (tractors) 2A, 2B, 2C are arranged one over another, and sheet sensing means 5A, 5B, 5C for detection of passage of individual sheets are installed on the downstream in sheet feeding direction. When printing on documents of one type is finished and another type slips are to be printed, the current sheets are returned to the appropriate one of the sheet sensing means 5A-5C, and after retraction of the sheets is verified, changeover of the next switching mechanism should again be made, and now printing sheets loaded in other tractor mechanisms 2A-2C are fed to the printing area.
