Abstract

PURPOSE:To cause static electricity on a recording paper to escape and prevent breakage of a thermal head and jamming of the recording paper, by covering the outer peripheral surface of a platen with a conductive elastic material. CONSTITUTION:A platen 2 comprises a core member 2a formed of a metal and a conductive elastic material 2b such as a conductive rubber covering the cylindrical outer peripheral surface of the core member 2a. Since the elastic material 2b consists of a conductive material such as a conductive silicon rubber prepared by uniformly dispersing carbon black or a powder of a metal such as silver and copper in a silicone rubber, static electricity on a recording paper 4 is not accumulated but is permitted to escape to the elastic material 2b of the platen 2 against which the recording paper 4 is pressed, and the static electricity can be made to escape through the metallic core member 2a, a shaft 2c and an earthing member 6 to a casing 7 of a recorder. Accordingly, jamming of the recording paper 4 can be prevented from occurring due to electrostatic adhesion.

In FIG. 2, reference numeral 11 denotes a thermal head, in which a large number of heating elements are formed in a line. 12 is a platen) The outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical core material is covered with an insulating elastic material 13 such as rubber.
The elastic body 13 has a trap structure that absorbs the ridges 9 of the thermal head 11 due to the elasticity of the elastic body 13. 14 is a recording paper, and 15 is an ink sheet, which are pressed and held between the thermal head 1 and the platen 120 in an overlapping state. The base material of the ink sheet 16 is a plastic film such as PET (polyethylene terephthalate) having a thickness of several microns, and the ink is applied onto this film.

Plastic synthetic paper is used. When recording, rotate the platen 12 in the direction of the arrow and insert the recording paper 1.
4 and the ink sheet 15 are conveyed in the sub-scanning direction. At this time, when a recording signal in the main scanning direction is applied to the thermal head 11, the ink on the ink sheet 15 is transferred onto the recording paper 14, and an image is recorded on the recording paper 14.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, in the above conventional recording apparatus, the ink sheet 1
Since the recording paper 5 is a plastic film, it is easily charged with static electricity, and the recording paper 15 is also easily charged with electricity, especially when synthetic paper is used. Since the cylindrical surface of the platen 2 is covered with an insulating elastic body 13, this static electricity cannot be released and is accumulated, resulting in damage to the thermal head 11 or damage to the recording paper 14. This had the serious problem of overloading the system and causing jamming. ' The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and aims to provide a highly reliable recording device that prevents damage to the thermal head and jamming of the recording paper by dissipating static electricity from the recording paper. purpose.

According to the above structure, the static electricity generated on the recording paper escapes to the conductive elastic body on the cylindrical outer peripheral surface of the platen to which the recording paper is pressed, and further passes through the metal platen core and shaft to the shearing device. Escape to the casing. Therefore, static electricity on the recording paper can be removed, jamming can be prevented, and damage to the thermal head due to static electricity can be prevented.

4 is a recording paper, and 5 is an ink sheet, which are pressed and held between the thermal head 1 and the platen 2 in a stacked state. Here, the base material of I/X-TRO is a plastic film such as PET (polyethylene terephthalate) with a thickness of several microns, and ink is applied onto this film. Further, the recording paper 4 is generally plain paper with good smoothness, but recently, when higher image quality is required, synthetic paper made of plastic is used. A ground member 6 electrically connects the shaft 2c of the platen 2 and the device housing 7. When recording, the platen 2 is rotated in the direction of the arrow to convey the recording paper 4 and the ink sheet 6 in the sub-scanning direction. At this time, when a recording signal in the main scanning direction is applied to the thermal head 1, the ink on the ink sheet 5 is transferred onto the recording paper 4, and an image is recorded on the recording paper 4.

Here, the ink sheet 4 is easily charged with static electricity because it is an insulating film, and the recording paper 4 is also easily charged because it rubs against the ink sheet 5 during the recording operation. In particular, when the recording paper 4 is synthetic paper, it becomes more likely to be charged. However, in this embodiment, the elastic body 2bf covering the outer circumferential surface of the cylinder of the platen 2 is made of a conductive material such as conductive silicone rubber in which carbon black or metal powder of silver or copper is uniformly dispersed. The static electricity of the paper 4 is released to the elastic body 2b of the platen 2 to which the recording paper 4 is pressed without being accumulated, and is further made of metal core material 2a and shaft 2C.
And it can escape to the device housing 7 via the ground member 6. Therefore, the static electricity generated on the recording paper 4 is removed without being accumulated, and jamming caused by the tension of the recording paper 4 due to static electricity can be prevented. Furthermore, damage to the drive circuit of the thermal head 1 and the like due to static electricity can be prevented.
