Abstract

PURPOSE:The titled inexpensive composition having low water vapor absorption, high lysine content, improved compatibility with feed and shelf stability, obtained by cultivating a bacterium capable of producing lysine in a specific culture medium and concentrating and drying the culture mixture. CONSTITUTION:A bacterium such as Brevibacterium lactofermentum FERM-P 2654 mold, etc., capable of producing lysine is cultivated in a lysine producing medium having a composition shown by the formula I using NH4Cl instead of (NH4)2SO4 at about 31.5 deg.C while adjusting the medium to about 7pH with ammonia water, etc. and a saccharide solution and NH4Cl continuously fed to the medium from the middle of the culture to give a fermented solution containing 50-70wt% (based on total solid material in the fermented solution) lysine hydrochloride. Then, the fermented solution is optionally pretreated by centrifugal separation, etc., to remove a bacterium mold, dyestuff, etc., concentrated at 20-80 deg.C in a short retention time until a solid content reaches 30-65wt% and dried by filter mat spray dry method, etc., in such a way that the concentrate will not undergo thermal denaturation to give the titled granular composition having improved flow properties and low cohesive force.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Lysine intended for animal nutrition is mixed with various feeds such as cereals, the composition of which is very poorly defined. It is considered that it is not necessary to use isolated and purified lysine under these conditions. Therefore, attempts have been made to directly solidify the lysine culture solution.

For example, Japanese Patent Publication No. 49-31794 discloses a method for producing a solid composition by concentrating a lysine culture solution and directly drying it with a spray dryer, drum dryer, or the like. However, with this method, it is difficult to produce and recover dry solids if the culture solution contains a large amount of sugar or organic acids, and the produced composition is sticky and highly hygroscopic. This makes it difficult to handle.

No. 17347, No. 2464032, etc., in order to improve the hygroscopicity of the solid composition, a moisture-proofing substance is added to the lysine culture solution and dried with a spray dryer, drum dryer, etc., to obtain a solid composition containing 10 to 35% lysine. It is proposed to manufacture something. However, these compositions have a relatively low lysine content, resulting in a high additive content.

In addition, French Patent Publication No. 2541867 states that the ff1ffi ratio of fermentable substances/total solids of carbon source is 80%.
Solid compositions with improved physical properties are disclosed that are made larger and azeotropically distilled under reduced pressure to a lysine content of 35-48% with the addition of suitable drying aids. However, these compositions still have problems such as low lysine content, high production costs, and the tendency for the products to become fine powders.

Means for Solving the Problems As a result of intensive research, the present inventor found that Lys・1/2 H2 is the cause of high hygroscopicity when lysine content is high.
It has been found that SO4 itself is extremely hygroscopic, and that by converting lysine into Lys-)-1CI, the hygroscopicity can be reduced even if the lysine content is high.

When concentrating the fermentation liquid, in order to prevent thermal denaturation of lysine, it is effective to use concentration equipment with a low temperature and short residence time as much as possible, and the liquid temperature is preferably within the range of 20 to 80°C. Concentration is carried out under such conditions until the solid content is approximately 30 to 65%.
