Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve efficiency of polishing work by abolishing polishing work against an individual disc and pursuing polishing work on both upper and lower surfaces of an original sheet prior to blanking it in form of a disc, in the case of a polishing method for a magnetic disc. CONSTITUTION:A delivered roll 1 formed with a rolled sheet 2 which has a magnetic layer reaches the first polishing section 4 through a guide roller 3. Said polishing section 4 consists of the upper polishing part and the lower one. And, a polishing member 8 is formed by applying alumina grains on a certain selected king of sheet. Also, the lower part is formed with a rolled polishing member 10 in order to polish both surfaces of an original sheet 2 simultaneously. The following second polishing section 12 is formed similarly to the first one except that the polishing member is positioned below the first polishing section. And, after completion of polishing, the original sheet 2 is taken up to a roll 15 in order to be blanked in form of a disc to be the completed product. This manufacturing method improves efficiency of work since upper and lower surfaces are simultaneously polished.

This polishing process involves punching out a base film on which a magnetic layer has been formed to form a disk, rotating the disk, and moving the polishing head in the radial direction of the disk so that the polishing head is relatively attached to the disk. This is done by sliding it against the surface.

<Problems to be Solved by the Invention> However, according to the above-mentioned method, each disk must be set in the polisher each time polishing is performed, and polishing is performed by moving the polishing head relative to the disk as described above. Since it is a sliding method, it takes a long time to sharpen.

<Means for Solving the Problems> The present invention was constructed in view of the above-mentioned problems, and eliminates the work of polishing individual disks, and instead performs the polishing work on the original sheet before punching out the disks. The present invention relates to a disk manufacturing method and an apparatus for the same.

In Fig. 1, reference numeral 1 is a sheet (hereinafter referred to as "original fabric") in which a magnetic layer is formed on a base of synthetic resin such as polyester.
It is a feed-out roll wound with a material (referred to as ``2''), which moves in the direction of arrow A, passes through a guide roller 3, and reaches the first polishing section 4. This polishing section 4 consists of an upper polishing section located above the original fabric 2 and a lower polishing section located below.

Of these, the upper polishing section includes a feed-out reel 6a around which a tape-shaped polishing member 8 is wound, and a take-up reel 6 that winds up the polishing member 8 that is fed out from the feed-out reel 6a.
b, a rubber roller 5 which is pressed against the original fabric 2 side by a pressure contact means such as a spring 7, and a belt-shaped polishing member 8 which is hung on these rollers. The polishing member 8 is formed by a method such as applying alumina particles to a predetermined sheet 5, and its surface roughness is preferably about No. 8000.

The moving speed of the original fabric in the A direction is about 20 m/min, and the moving speed of the polishing member 8 in the B direction is about 3n+/sec. However, the movement of the polishing member 8 in the B direction is not essential to the configuration of the present invention, and if there is a certain speed difference with respect to the moving speed of the original fabric 2, the polishing member 8 can move in the same direction as the moving direction of the original fabric 2. Almost the same effect can be expected. Further, as shown in FIG. 3, the width W2 of the polished portion 2a with respect to the original fabric 2 is made smaller than the width W of the original fabric 2. This means that if the width W2 of the polished portion 2a is set larger than the width W of the original fabric 2, then the width W1 of the original fabric 2
This is because it has been experimentally confirmed that a stepped portion is formed on the rubber roll with a width equal to that of the rubber roll. This is thought to be because the thickness of the polishing member presses the side edges of the original fabric 2 against the rubber roller. Note that the reference numeral 16 in the figure indicates a punched portion of the disk.

Next, the lower polishing section includes a feed-out reel 6d around which a tape-shaped polishing member 10 is wound, a take-up reel 6C and a rubber roller 9 for winding up the polishing member 10 fed out from the feed-out rule 6d, and a rubber roller 9. 9 and the above-mentioned polishing member 10. In this polishing, the member 10 is also the original fabric 2.
It is arranged to move in direction C, which is opposite to direction A of movement. However, like the polishing member of the upper polishing section, the moving direction of the polishing member 10 may be made the same as the moving direction of the original fabric 2 if there is a predetermined speed difference between the moving speed of the original fabric 2 and the moving speed of the original fabric 2.

The hardness of the rubber rollers 5 and 9 is 1 on Shore hardness.
0 to 308 seconds is appropriate. Incidentally, if the hardness is less than 10Hs, it will be difficult to form the roller itself, and even if it is possible to form the roller, the density of the roller surface will be low, which will have an adverse effect on the original fabric. On the contrary, 3011s
If the hardness is higher than that, it may cause streak-like damage to the original fabric, which is also not appropriate.

Reference numeral 12 denotes a second polishing section disposed following the first polishing section 4, and its configuration is similar to the first polishing section 4, with an upper part and a lower polishing part placed above and below, respectively, through the original fabric 2. It is composed by arranging it. The upper and lower polishing sections also consist of winding and feeding reels, rubber rollers, and tape-shaped polishing members hung on these rollers. However, the surface roughness of each polishing member is lower than that of the polishing member 8.10 of the first polishing section 4, and the polishing performed in the first polishing section 4 is finished in the second polishing section. Appropriate surface roughness of the polishing member of the second polishing section 12 is approximately No. 8000. 13 is a guide roller for the original fabric, 14 is the original fabric 2
This is a driving roller located opposite to the guide roller 13 via the guide roller 13, and moves the original fabric 2 in the direction A and applies tension to the original fabric. The original fabric 2 that has been polished is wound up on the take-up roll 15, and the polishing work is completed.

In addition, the illustrated configuration shows a state in which the moving direction of the polishing member is the same as the moving direction of the original fabric 2 or is reversed 1806, but the present invention is not limited to this.
It may be arranged at a predetermined angle with respect to the moving direction of the original fabric 2. For example, the direction of movement of the polishing member is made perpendicular to the direction of movement of the original fabric.

That is, the upper dust removing section and the lower dust removing section are positioned opposite to each other with the raw material 2 interposed therebetween, and both the upper dust removing section and the lower dust removing section are connected to two winding/feeding reels (reference numeral 20).
a, 20b, 21a, 21b) and one rubber roller (designated 22, 23) are each arranged. A tape-shaped dust removal member 18.1 is provided for these rollers.
9 is hung, and is configured to move in directions B to C, for example, like the polishing member of the polishing section. These dust removal members 18 and 19 are mainly used to remove dust generated by polishing and attached to the surface of the original fabric 2, and are designed to remove dust well and not damage the surface of the original fabric that has been polished. It is necessary to form it with +4 charges. Therefore, nonwoven fabric is effective as a material for forming the dust removal member. Next, 24 and 25 are dust suction devices attached to the dust removal members 18 and 19. That is, this device is a device that suctions and removes the dust adhering to the dust removing member side, and the dust removed from the original fabric 2 to the dust removing member 19 side by this device is further suctioned and removed from this dust removing member. Therefore, a clean dust removing member is always brought into contact with the original fabric 2 to effectively remove dust. In addition to the suction method, dust may be removed from the dust removing member by bringing a belt (tape) coated with an adhesive material into contact with the dust removing member to which dust is attached. However, in this case, care must be taken to prevent the adhesive material from adhering to the web 2 side via the dust removal members 18 and 19.
