PURPOSE:To reduce danger of destruction while decreasing rotational numbers of each of a disk and a pickup without deteriorating characteristic of information reading by rotating the disk and pickup in the opposite direction. CONSTITUTION:Information recorded on the disk 10 is read by the pickup 9. Rotation of the shaft 12 of a motor 11 is transmitted to the shaft 14 through a belt 13 to rotate the pickup 9 in the direction of arrow marks 15. Rotation of the motor 11 is reversed by gears 16, 17, and the disk 10 is rotated in the direction of arrow marks 21 through a shaft 18, a belt 19 and a shaft 20.
