Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize pure vertical recording and high reproduced output with a single head chip by forming a vertical head only for recording and a ring head only for reproducing on the single head chip. CONSTITUTION:When this single head chip is applied to a floating head for a vertical fixed magnetic disc device, a vertical head 2 only for recording is formed on the end face of one ski 4, and a ring head 3 only for reproducing is formed on the end face of the other ski 4. By this head chip, the vertical head is used for recording to realize pure vertical recording, and the ring head of high reproducing efficiency is used for reproducing to obtain a large reproduced output.
