て外挿したシールリングとによつて形成する動的
円筒シール面と、シールハウジングに対して、上
記シールリングの回動を阻止するべく担持すると
ともに、該シールリングの端面をシールハウジン
グの内縁に対して適宜押圧により圧接して形成す
る静的シール面とによつて軸封するメカニカルシ
ールにおいて、上記静的シール面が外径に向つて
適宜角度で拡開する楔状断面からなる環状テーパ
間隙を有する構造になることを特徴とするメカニ
