(Prior Art) In the past, inserting paper pieces into a bound book was mainly done manually. That is, the insertion piece, which has been folded in half in advance, is inserted into the middle several pages of the opened bound book, but this operation is extremely labor-intensive and is therefore inefficient.

Therefore, as a means of automating this process, we opened a bound book with its spine facing down to the left and right with several sheets in the center standing upright, and inserted the pieces of paper into the area through which the upright portions passed and placed the pieces of paper in a horizontal position. It has been proposed to leave the piece of paper facing up, and as it passes, fold the piece of paper in half from the middle, insert it so that it is exposed to both sides of this upright part, and then close the bound book again. .

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) By the way, as a conventional method for inserting pieces of paper into a bound book, manual work is extremely inefficient, and conventionally proposed automatic devices do not allow the back of the bound book to be inserted. Since it is unfolded downward, it is necessary for this unfolded state to pass under the inserted piece of paper placed horizontally with the upright part left fully open to the left and right, and it is necessary to close it again. For this reason, it was necessary to lengthen the travel path for the bound book to allow this unfolding and closing.1 This had the disadvantage that the overall length of the processing machine was long, resulting in a long rope. According to the conventional method, since the book must be opened with the back facing down and a portion of the book must remain upright, the back needs to be stabilized, which has the disadvantage that it cannot be applied to thin books.

Therefore, it is an object of the present invention to provide an automatic insertion device that can reduce the bulk of the mechanical device and can be applied to thin bound books, and that can perform efficient work.

(Means for Solving the Problems) Therefore, in the present invention, first, a device configuration means is adopted that processes the bound books in the horizontal position with the bound book lying in its thickness direction, and some of the bound books are half-opened in the horizontal position. A slit fitting is provided to hold the leaf, a discontinuous part is provided on this fitting, a piece of paper is placed facing the discontinuous position, and a piece of paper is placed facing the discontinuous position. It is configured to obtain a sandwiched state while being pushed in using the subsequent slit metal fittings in the latter half.

(Function) According to the present invention, since the bound book is transported in a horizontal position,
During transport, the bound book is transferred stably under stress by a means such as pinching the back of the bound book. During this time, the bound book is held by the slit metal fittings and left in a half-open state with a few separated leaf portions remaining. (Specifically, the teacher's part held between the slit fittings and the state along both outside sides of the fittings) are maintained.

The inserted piece of paper waiting in the discontinuous part of the slit fitting is
It hits the edge of the bound book that has moved in the half-open state, and is pushed into the slit fitting in the latter half along with the bound book. The second half of the slit fittings act to push the invading paper pieces into both sides of the several-leaf section of the bound book, which also intrudes, while turning them in a curved manner.

As a result, the inserted paper piece is forcefully inserted into the small gap between the pair of parallel flat plates of the slit fitting. Then, the bound book passes through the slit fitting and closes naturally due to its own weight from the half-open state, thus completing the pinching operation.

That is, when the cylinder 17 rotates and the row of intake holes 18 reaches the position directly above it, the support rod 19 is also in the uppermost position, and the outer peripheral surface of the core portion 17 is held in the stocker 15. The intake operation is cut off when the core 17 rotates until the row of intake holes 18 reaches the position directly below it. The inserted paper piece 13, which has fallen away from the tube 17 due to its own weight, rides on the delivery roller 20 directly below it.

In addition, in the above-described apparatus of the present invention, the height position of the regulating rod 4 of the mounting table 1 and the guide rail 7 are adjusted depending on the thickness of the bound books 3 to be processed.
The position of the bottom plate metal fitting 14 is adjusted according to the clamping pressure of the slit fittings 10 and 11 from the holder 5, and the length of the inserted paper piece 13.In addition, the inserted paper piece 13 is a rotating tube. Since the paper is sent out with the front and back sides reversed by the operation in step 17, it is necessary to set the paper with the printed surface facing downward when storing it in the stocker 15.

(Effects of the Invention) As described above, according to the device of the present invention, by configuring the step of first stacking the bound books flat and then processing them in the horizontal position, it is possible to stack the bound books, and As the number of stacks decreases through processing, it is possible to stack them one after another, allowing continuous operation in automatic processing. In particular, the processing of bound books in the horizontal position in the apparatus of the present invention is advantageous in the following points. In other words, the bound book, which is held horizontally between the guide rail and the chain belt and fed forcefully and stably, can be separated into several pages by the slit metal fittings, and the book can be left in a half-open state with less penetration by the metal fittings. There is no need to fully open the bound book vertically as in the conventional device, and the process stroke for this opening operation can be made extremely short. As a result, the overall length of the device can be shortened and the device can be constructed to be small. can do. In addition, in the vertical position processing of bound books in conventional devices, the back of the bound book is stiff to maintain the vertical position, and it was not possible to process thin bound books, etc., but the present invention The horizontal position processing of the device allows processing of thin books, which is not possible with conventional devices.

As described above, the device of the present invention can reduce the bulk of the device configuration, expand the thickness and shape of bound books that can be processed, and improve work efficiency through continuous processing, making it suitable for practical use. It is extremely useful.

(1) A mechanism that feeds bound books stacked flat with their backs on one side on a mounting table from the bottom one by one, and a guide rail that transfers the bound books while the backs of the bound books sent out from this mounting table are held between a guide rail. The mechanism constitutes a lateral position transfer path for the bound book, and along this transfer path, a slit metal fitting in which the plates are arranged in parallel with a small gap is made to float above the surface of the pedestal for the bound book to be transferred. On the other hand, a discontinuous portion is formed in the intermediate region of the transfer path of the slit fitting, and the inserted paper piece is configured to face the vertical direction that intersects the horizontal direction of the bound book and the horizontal direction of transfer. The feature is an automatic insertion device for inserting paper pieces into bound books.
