Abstract

PURPOSE:To secure certain capability of detecting both vertical and lateral displacements of a paper sheet and miniaturize the handling unit rotated thereto, by arranging two pairs of detector consisting of two sheets of lever making differential rotation in parallel with each other, on a paper sheets parting board. CONSTITUTION:A sensor 37 for detecting the remainder on separators 23a, 23b is so arranged as the tips of levers 64, 65 touch the separator 23 on input paper money 51 placed thereon. The separator 23 is provided with a hole at one position into while the lever 65 plunges when there is no input paper money 51 and if tips of levers 64, 65 stay in the same level, partial areas of levers 64, 65 shield the optical axis 100 of an optical sensor 66 and the shield on the optical axis is cleared when the lever 65 plunges into the hole of the separator 23. In addition, the lever 65 is very slightly longer than the lever 64, and this fact contributes to maintain 1a constant phase difference of the lever 65 in relation to the lever 64 even when the vertical position of the separator 23 is changed, so that presence/absence of input paper money 51 can be discriminated in a steady state. Thus, thickness of the separator 23 can be only several mm, duly realizing compact dimensions for the whole unit.

[Scope of Claims] 1. A paper sheet carrying means consisting of a belt and a pulley, which accumulates and stores the paper sheets carried in, and includes a group of paper sheets immediately after being carried in, and papers carried and stored before this. A storage unit equipped with a partition plate for distinguishing between groups of leaves, and a conveying means for taking out paper sheets one by one by appropriately contacting the paper sheets on or immediately after the partition plate of the storage unit and sending out the paper sheets. It consists of two levers that have the same fulcrum shaft and can be moved adjacently and parallelly, in order to detect the presence or absence of paper sheets on the partition plate immediately after being carried in. One lever is placed in contact with the top surface of the partition plate, and the other lever is placed so that it falls into the hole provided on the partition plate, and the presence or absence of paper sheets on the partition plate is detected by the phase difference between these two levers. A paper sheet handling device characterized by being provided with a paper sheet detection mechanism configured as follows. 2. The paper sheet handling device according to claim 1, wherein one of the paper sheet detection mechanisms is arranged on each side of the center line of the paper sheet in the conveyance direction. 3. Of the two levers that constitute the paper sheet detection mechanism,
2. The paper sheet handling device according to claim 1, wherein the lever that falls into the hole provided in the partition plate is longer than the lever that contacts the upper surface of the partition plate. 4. Of the two levers that constitute the paper sheet detection mechanism,
The paper sheet handling device according to claim 2, wherein the lever located on the outside of the stacked paper sheets falls into a hole provided in the partition plate.
