したファクシミリ信号を格納する第2の記憶手段と、複
数の該符号化手段のいずれかを選択する符号変換手段と
を有し、受信したファクシミリ信号を復元し、複数の該
符号化手段の内の所定の符号化手段を用いて符号化した
ファクシミリ信号を該第1の記憶手段に格納し、当該す
る復号化手段によって該第1の記憶手段から復元したフ
ァクシミリ信号を該第2の記憶手段に格納し、送信相手
先ファクシミリ装置に受信可能な符号化ファクシミリ信
号を、該符号化変換手段によって複数の該符号化手段か
ら選択して符号化することを特徴とするファクシミリ装
