Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect a magnetic saturation level and to easily know the target of recording level setting by providing a peak holding circuit at the side of a playback amplifier so as to reproduce a recorded signal and detects its maximum value. CONSTITUTION:A signal inputted from an oscillation circuit 1 is recorded on a tape 4 through a sound recording amplifier 2 and a recording head 3, and this signal is inputted to the peak holding circuit 7 through a playback head 5 and a playback amplifier 6 to display the maximum value on a display device 8. The set value of the oscillation circuit 1 is varied and then the maximum value which is recordable on the tape is displayed on the display device 8. Consequently, the magnetic saturation level of the tape is known in a short time and the recordable maximum level is easily known.
