Abstract

PURPOSE:To aim at greatly simplifying the control system for an intake-air heating device and at reducing the cost thereof, by controlling the energization of an electrical heater for heating intake-air which is connected in parallel to a starter in a power source circuit, in accordance with the opening and closing of a starter switch. CONSTITUTION:An intake-air heating device 3 comprises an air-permeable PTC heater 6 having a grid-like structure. The PCT heater 6 is connected in parallel to a starter 11 in a power source circuit, and is selectively fed with current from a battery source 10 through a stater relay switch 12 which is closed only when the stater switch 13 is closed to energize the starter 11 and the PCT heater 6 during the period of the closing time. With this arrangement it is possible to aim at greatly simplifying the control system for the intake-air heating device and at reducing the cost thereof.

られている。このブレヒートに用いられる吸気加熱装置
は従来より種々のa様にて提案されており、その一つと
して、正特性サーミスタ製のPTCヒータの如き高性能
電気に一夕を用いたものが実開昭57−182253号
に於て公開されている。

発明が解決しようとする問題点 PTCヒータの如き高性能電気ヒータは格子構造の如き
通気性を有する構造に構成されて吸気通路を横切って配
設されることにより比較的大きい発熱表面積をもって吸
気加熱を効果的に行い、このため上述の如き高性能電気
ヒータを吸気加熱装置として備えたディーゼル機関に於
ては、ディーゼル機関の燃焼性の改善と相俟ってプレヒ
ートが瞬間的に完了し、始動待ち時間を必要としなくな
ってきている。このような環状に於ては、スタータによ
るディーゼル機関の始動に先立って電気ヒータに通電を
行う必要がなくなり、電気ヒータはスタータスイッチが
閉じられると同時に通電されて発熱するよう構成されて
いればよい。
