Abstract

PURPOSE:To decorate with a sharp and beautiful finish and with a three-dimensional feelding, by a method wherein a printed layer is provided on the surface of a substrate, and then a die for a desired pattern or the like is pressed against the printed layer through a heat-resistant resin film, thereby thermally transferring the pattern of the die. CONSTITUTION:A printed layer 3 is provided on the surface of a substrate 1 by using a resin base coating material being adhesive to the base and ordinarily containing a matting agent (e.g., silica), preferably, by a silk screen printing method. Then, the die 4 provided with a desired pattern, characters or the like, e.g., a cut line or an emboss, is pressed against the printed layer 3 through the heat-resistant resin film 5 having a surface roughness lower than that of a stamping surface of the die 4, thereby thermally transferring the pattern of the die 4 on the printed layer 3.

Conventional methods for making such decorative items include, for example, applying matte printing to the surface of the base material and then applying gloss printing on top of this, or transferring vapor-deposited transfer foil in metallic luster color to the surface of the heathered material in advance. , a method such as pressing it with a gold plate having a desired grain pattern is applied.

``Problems to be Solved by the Invention'' However, in these conventional decorating methods, first of all, in the former method, a glossy decorative part is formed by printing, so it is difficult to achieve a deep three-dimensional effect as well as brightness and color. There was a problem in that it was not possible to achieve sharpness at the boundary between the two.

Furthermore, in the latter method, the metal plate is directly pressed against the transfer foil in order to create the grain pattern, so there is a problem in that it is not possible to create a beautiful grain pattern.

[Means for Solving the Problems] The method for surface decoration of containers etc. according to the present invention includes the following:
A printing layer is formed by applying an adhesive resin paint to the base material, and a stamp with desired characters, patterns, etc. The method is characterized in that it is pressed through an oily heat-resistant film and the stamped pattern is thermally transferred onto the printing layer.

"Example" An example of the present invention will be described below using a cap 1 of a cosmetic container as shown in FIG. 1 as an example of a base material. This cap (i.e., base material) 1 is integrally molded by injection molding or the like using a thermoplastic synthetic resin such as polystyrene, styrene, or acrylic resin, and has a decorative portion 2 formed on its side surface. A specific example of forming this decorative portion 2 will be described below.

First, a printed layer 3 is formed on the surface of the cap 1 using a resin-based paint that is adhesive to the cap 1 and using means such as cloth or screen printing. In particular, this printing layer 3 is printed using a silk screen printing method as a printing method.
It is preferable to have a rich three-dimensional feel with build-up in order to enhance the design effect of a pattern to be formed later by heat transfer. In the examples, a radiation-curable resin-based paint containing a matting agent (silica, inorganic fine powder) was used as the resin-based paint, and after applying the radiation-curable resin thread paint, this i The printed layer 3 was made into a matte layer by being irradiated with this radiation and fumed.

Furthermore, although it is sufficient to form the printing layer 3 over the IglM forming the pattern of the added tr portion 2, it may be formed over the entire annular surface of the cap 1.

Next, the carved stamp 4 having a curved pattern as shown in FIG. 1 is pressed as shown in FIG. , the pattern of the stamp 4 is thermally transferred onto the printing layer 3 to complete the process. In addition, as the resin heat-resistant film 5, a glossy film such as polyester can be mentioned.

However, according to such a decoration method, the matte printing jgI3 is crushed by the stamp 4 through the heat-resistant film 5 such as a polyester film, and the pattern on the stamp surface 4a is transferred in a glossy manner. , the edges of the pattern appear sharp, and the pattern appears three-dimensional with a group of colors. As shown in FIG. 3, when a pattern to be transferred is formed by stamping a pattern, a grain, etc., the pattern, grain, etc. appear sharply in the transferred area as an uneven pattern. Even when a stamp processed by such a process such as Mansen is used, since the stamp is performed through the heat-resistant film 5, a pattern with a beautiful finish can be formed. Furthermore, since the markings 4 are heat-transferred via the heat-resistant resin film 5 in this manner, resin-based paint does not directly adhere to the markings 4, and a large amount of decoration with a beautiful finish can always be performed. therefore,
This has the advantage of improving applicability in mass production.
