Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the evenness of leakage magnetic flux and to erase effectively the magnetic flux by projecting partially an erase core in the read/ write direction. CONSTITUTION:Each core 6 and 7 has projected divisions 8 and 9 formed in a circular arc shape respectively. In this side erase magnetic head, the leakage magnetic flux is concentrated on the projected divisions 8 and 9 by installing them facing to the read/write core 1 of the erase core 6 and 7. In such a way 1 the generation of the magnetic flux which can perform the enough erasing with small erase current is made possible, providing effective erasing.
