FIG. 4 is a perspective view of a modification of the embodiment,
The columnar material has one unit material 1 as shown in FIG.
one unit member 1a so that the joint edge 3a of unit member a brings the joint edge 2a of the other unit member 1b into close contact with each other.
The joint edges 3a of the unit members 1b are formed into a convex arc surface with an arc shape in cross section, and when the joint edges 2a of the adjacent unit members 1b are formed into a columnar shape as shown in FIG. The former unit material 1a and the latter unit material 1b are alternately butted and bonded together so that the joining edge 3a of the latter unit material 1b and the joining edge 2a of the latter unit material 1b are brought into close contact with each other to form a hollow cross section. It is formed into a circular column shape. 7 is a hollow part.

First, prepare a plurality of materials such as wood that have approximately the same width, length, and thickness, and in order to form the unit material 1, one edge of the materials is made into a concave arc surface with an arc-shaped cross section, and one joint end is The edge 2 is formed, and the other edge is made into a convex arc surface with an arcuate cross section, and the other joint edge 3 is formed to form a plurality of unit members 1 having the same cross-sectional shape as shown in FIG. Shape.

Next, as shown in FIG. 6, a predetermined number of unit materials 1 are arranged adjacently in a horizontal row so that the joint edges 3 of the convex arc surfaces and the joint edges 2 of the concave arc surfaces of the unit materials 1 are adjacent to each other. The arrangement of each unit material 1 is fixed by pasting a plurality of flexible sheets 4 such as paper tape or cloth tape in the width direction on one surface of the continuous unit materials 1.
In addition to being attached as described above, the flexible sheet 4 may be attached to the entire surface of the continuous unit member 1 or along the joining edges 2 and 3 in the length direction.

Thereafter, the unit members 1 are sequentially bent using the flexible sheet 4 as a guide, and the unit members 1, 1 are butted and bonded together at an angle so that the joining edges 2, 3 are brought into close contact with each other. At this time, since the joining edges 2 and 3 have an arcuate cross-section, it is possible to slide them little by little so that the optimal shape is columnar, and it is only necessary to slide them so that the optimal shape is achieved before bonding. .

After the unit materials 1... are bonded together, if the flexible sheet 4 is removed from the outer surface of the unit materials 1,
A hollow columnar body is completed. In this embodiment, in order to make the joint between the joining edges 2 and 3 of the unit material 1 beautiful, the outer surface of the columnar body is cut and polished, and at that time, the flexible sheet 4 is also Remove at the same time.

Note that the unit material 1 is not limited to the above example, and may be made of any material as long as it can be processed as described above. In addition to the above examples, various types of plywood, laminated wood, etc. can be used, and as shown in FIG.
A surface material 6 such as a beautiful and high-quality natural wood veneer may be laminated and bonded on the surface of the columnar material, so that the surface material 6 appears on the outer surface of the completed columnar material.

As is clear from the above, the joint edges of the unit materials are made into concave arc surfaces or convex arc surfaces with an arc-shaped cross section so that the joint edges of the unit materials are in close contact with each other. It is characterized in that the concave arc surface and the convex arc surface of the joint edge are brought into close contact with each other at an angle and bonded together to form a columnar shape, thereby eliminating the peculiar defects of wood. It is hard to warp, crack, twist, etc., has many adhesive surfaces between unit materials, has strength and durability, and has a beautiful appearance such as sawn board and small square lumber as unit materials. It is possible to manufacture large-diameter pillar materials from thin wood, etc. regardless of the material.
Moreover, even if the appearance is to be similar to higher-grade natural wood, high-grade natural wood can be laminated and bonded as a surface material on an inexpensive base plate, making it possible to keep finishing costs low. can. In addition, large-diameter natural wood tends to be insufficiently dried and cracks may occur, but thin unit materials can evenly dry each part, preventing cracks and distortion that are common with natural wood. Misalignment is less likely to occur. Furthermore, by pretreating the unit material with a chemical solution before forming it into a columnar shape, each part of the unit material can be provided with sufficient antiseptic properties, insect repellency, or fire retardancy.

Then, a predetermined number of unit materials are arranged adjacent to each other in a horizontal row, a flexible sheet is pasted on one surface of the continuous unit materials to fix the arrangement of each unit material, and the flexible sheet is guided. Since the unit materials are bonded and bonded together, there is no fear that the unit materials will come apart during the manufacturing process, making the manufacturing process significantly easier and more efficient. Moreover, commercially available paper tape can be attached to the flexible sheet. It is extremely convenient because it can be used with cloth tape, etc. In addition, the joining edges of each unit material are not formed in a finger shape, but are formed in an arc shape in cross section, so in the process of manufacturing a column, it is made little by little so that the column has the optimal shape. You can also slightly shift the position of each unit material by sliding it.
In the process of solidifying the adhesive, when tightening the outer surface of the columnar material, etc., it is possible to correct the columnar material so that it has an optimal shape.
