For this reason, practical tests have been conducted using alpha-naphthalene acetic acid (NAA), maleic acid hydrazide, and the like to prevent ear germination of wheat. However, such products that have been tried so far have had drawbacks such as low ability to prevent panicle germination, or sterility occurs after treatment with chemicals, leading to deterioration in quality after harvesting.

。Furthermore, in order to prevent ear germination, chemicals must be sprayed just before harvesting, so special safety considerations are required for edible wheat. None of the agents to date have been fully satisfactory in terms of their effectiveness and safety in preventing panicle germination, and none have been put into practical use as panicle germination inhibitors.

The fatty acid used in the ester of sugar or sugar alcohol with fatty acid has a concentration of g to /o. Specific examples include caprylic acid (carbon number g), pelargonic acid (carbon number 2), capric acid (fii! prime number 10
), undecanoic acid (carbon number //), lauric acid (carbon number 7.2), but among these, especially those with carbon number 10 to
7.2 is preferable. In addition, if the number of carbon atoms is less than r or exceeds carbon number/Jt, a large amount of the chemical must be used to achieve a sufficient effect of preventing panicle germination.
It's not sweet.

Seven days before and seven days before harvesting the sugars or sugars from the various fat levels listed in the table, they were uniformly spread over the entire barrel. Then, the entire Otaru was harvested and a germination test was conducted in a petri dish using the following conventional method. That is, place a filter paper on a petri dish, moisten it thoroughly with water, place 9 pieces of wheat on top of it, and then cover it with a moist filter paper to maintain a small amount of humidity.
After being left in the dark for 10 days, the germination rate (%) was investigated and the results are shown in Table 1. In addition, this test was conducted with 3 shears per 7 plots, and the average germination rate was determined.
