Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the liquid level of fuel deviated during rapid turn to be ensured in a high level, by a method wherein a working hole is machined in the upper surface of a tank body, and a swirl tank, inserted through the working hole to place it to the bottom part of the tank body, is blocked throughout the whole surface, is installed. CONSTITUTION:A chamber 9 of a swirl tank 5 is formed in a block state throughout the whole surface. The swirl tank 5 is formed integrally with an outlet tube 13, a fuel introducing pipe 37, and a fuel pump 25, and is mounted integrally to a cover 27. The cover 27 is inserted through a working hole 7, bored in the upper surface of a tank body 3, to place it on the bottom of the tank body, and the cover 27 is secured to the tank body 3. Fuel is introduced in the swirl tank 5 through a fuel introducing pipe 37. If rapid turn is made when te is less fuel, the fuel in the swirl tank 5 is prevented from escaping to the outside, the surfaces (a) and (b) of liquid are ensured in a high level in the chamber 9, and thereby, a suction port 23 is prevented from being exposed.

[Prior art] In general, when making a sharp turn when the fuel in the fuel tank is low, or when parking on an incline such as on a slope, the fuel may shift in the tank, and depending on the direction in which the fuel is shifted, the suction port may close. There were problems with the engine being exposed, making it difficult to start, and causing suffocation and engine stalling. In order to solve this problem, a swirl tank is installed in the tank to minimize the deviation of the fuel, and the fuel is sucked from the swirl tank. The swirl tank 101 is, for example, welded and fixed to the bottom surface of the tank body 103 as shown in FIG. 4.

The upper part of the swirl tank 1°01 is open, and the circumferential wall of the swirl tank 101 is provided with a fuel intake window 107 and a water drain hole 109 that communicate with the inside of the tank body 103. As a result, when making a sharp left turn when fuel is low, a liquid level a shown by the chain line is ensured in the turning tank 101, and when making a sharp right turn, the liquid level a shown by the chain line is secured by the partition wall 111 provided in the turning MJ10.1. The liquid level shown is ensured.

However, when the tank body 103 is integrally molded by blow molding, the swirling tank 101 cannot be fixed to the tank body 103 in advance and must be inserted through the working hole 105. In addition to having to make a large working hole 105, a large working hole 125 is also required on the floor panel 123 side, which causes problems in terms of strength, such as a reduction in surface rigidity.

Therefore, if the turning angle 4!101 is made smaller due to the decrease in surface rigidity, the working holes 105 and 125 will become smaller, but on the other hand, the number of fuel canisters to be secured during sharp turns will be reduced.

In addition, when parking on an incline such as a slope, the fuel stays in the turning tank, and when making a sharp turn, the fuel in the turning tank will not escape to the outside even if it shifts to the outside. The liquid level is secured at a high position. Therefore, it is possible to downsize the rotating tank. Further, the vapor generated in the swirling tank is guided and discharged to the outside via a vapor removing vibrator.

[Effects of the Invention] As explained above, according to the present invention, since the chamber of the swirling tank is closed, the liquid level of the fuel, which tends to shift during sharp turns, can be maintained at a high position, so that the swirling tank can be made smaller. This makes it possible to make the working hole smaller. As a result, the strength of the tank body can be increased.

In addition, it is possible to prevent the engine from stalling if the engine stalls when taking a sharp turn, and it also prevents the engine from starting on slopes or other slopes. In addition, since the vapor in the chamber can be quickly guided and discharged outside, engine troubles due to vapor will not occur.
