Abstract

PURPOSE:To stabilize the contact between a flexible medium and head, lighten the head load, and increase the allowable accuracy, by inclining the contact surface of the head holding the flexible medium against the rotating surface of the flexible medium. CONSTITUTION:A flexible medium 1 moves under a condition where the medium 1 is held between a lower head 4 and upper head 5. The head sliding surfaces of the lower and upper heads 4 and 5 have an angle theta against the medium rotating surface. A trend that a slack is produced in the flexible medium at the entrance to the head and projected deformation occurs on the head surface by means of frictional resistance, when the flexible medium 1 is slid along the surface of the lower head 4, is usually seen, but, in such case, the flexible medium is stably contacted with the head, since the sliding surfaces of the heads have an angle against the rotating surface of the flexible medium 1 and the sliding surfaces of the heads follow the deformation of the medium. In addition, the head load can be lightened and the allowable accuracy in position between the medium and head can be increased.

In the conventional example, the medium contact surface of the lower head 4 is generally fixed to the carriage 6 so as to be parallel to the medium rotation surface. A load is applied to the upper head 5 so as to follow the surface of the lower head 4, and by sandwiching the flexible medium 1 with the lower head 4, the flexible medium 1 and the lower head are 4.
The flexible medium 1 and the upper head 5 are arranged so as to be in stable contact with each other at the same time.

However, in the conventional example described above, a frictional force acts between the flexible medium 1 and the heads 4 and 5, and slack occurs at the portion where the flexible medium 1 is introduced into the head. This phenomenon will be explained with reference to FIG. 2, taking as an example the case of only the lower head 4. Due to the contact friction between the flexible medium 1 and the lower head 4, slack is created at the introduction portion of the flexible medium 1 to the head, and at the same time, the medium on the head contact surface of the head 4 is deformed so as to be separated. In the conventional double-sided head, as shown in FIG. 3, by forcibly suppressing deformation by the upper head 5, the flexible medium 1 and the upper head 5. In order to make stable contact with the flexible medium 1, the deformation of the flexible medium 1 on the head contact surface results in a reduction of the load force on the upper head 5, which requires a larger load for stable contact and causes local damage. In addition, the flexible medium 1 and the upper head have the disadvantage that the force applied to the flexible medium 1 increases and the possibility of damaging the flexible medium 1 increases.

5. The present invention has the disadvantage that the relative positional relationship with the lower head 4 is sensitive to stable contact.Object of the Invention The present invention eliminates the disadvantages of the above-mentioned conventional example. Even if a flexible medium is held between the heads and the part where the medium is introduced into the head is deformed due to friction, the head load tX
It is an object of the present invention to provide a flexible disk drive device that enables stable contact without increasing the amount of noise and does not require much relative positional accuracy between a head and a medium.

DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS The configuration of an embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to drawings.
This will be explained together with 1. In FIG. 4, 1 is a rotating flexible medium, and this flexible medium 1 is slid between a lower head 4 and an upper head 5. The lower head 4 is held by a carriage 6. The upper head 5 is held by the arm 7. Lower head 4 and carriage 6, upper head 5 and arm 7
is track-positioned along the guide slot 8 as an integral moving body. Angle θ (0<θ
The guide rod 8 is fixed by a metal fitting 11 and a screw 12 to the mounting surface IO of the drive base 9' having the mounting surface 10 of <10 degrees. As a result, the head sliding surfaces of the lower head 4 and the upper head 5 form an angle θ with respect to the medium rotation surface.

The operation of this embodiment will be explained. When the lower head 4 and the flexible medium 1 slide, frictional resistance causes slack to occur at the part where the flexible medium 1 is introduced into the head.
There is a tendency for convex deformation to occur on the head surface. In this embodiment, since the head sliding surface has an angle with respect to the rotating surface of the flexible medium 1, the head sliding surface follows the deformation of the medium, resulting in the advantage of achieving stable contact between the head and the flexible medium. .

Next, a second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. This embodiment is the same as the first embodiment, except that the head sliding surface and the medium rotation surface are tilted to make an angle, and the head mounting surface 13 of the carriage 6' is provided with an angle with the medium rotation surface. It is something that has an effect. Furthermore, it is natural that the same effect can be obtained by making the lower surface of the lower head 4 have an angle with respect to the medium rotation surface.

Effects of the Invention The present invention has the above-described configuration, and since the medium contact surface of the head is inclined with respect to the medium rotation surface, stable contact between the medium and the head is possible, which reduces the head load and increases the speed of the medium. The positional accuracy tolerance between the head and the head becomes the dog.
