Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate deformation and fatigue of a magnetic sheet due to the press contact of a magnetic sheet or a pad at all by projecting a gap of the magnetic head opposite to the recording face of the magnetic sheet in a position connecting the 1st and 2nd tapers. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic sheet 1 is brought into a state completely parted from a head slide member 10 and a magnetic head 2 when the turning of the magnetic sheet 1 is stopped. A negative pressure is produced to a concaved prt 14 formed by the 1st and 2nd tapers 11, 12 of the head slide member 10 with air flow attended with the high speed turning drive of the magnetic sheet 1 from this state, the magnetic sheet 1 is bent inside of the concaved part 14 of the head slide member 10 and pressed into contact with the magnetic head 2 at a prescribed pressure. Since the air film A is formed between the magnetic sheet 1 and the head slide member 10, the magnetic sheet 1 and the head slide member 10 are not contacted together. Thus, the magnetic sheet has no flaw and since no pad exists to a side opposite to the magnetic head at all, the magnetic sheet is replaced easily.

In magnetic recording and reproducing devices that record and reproduce information by sliding a magnetic head against the recording surface of a magnetic sheet, in order to achieve highly reliable and stable recording and reproduction, it is necessary to maintain a stable relationship between the magnetic sheet that rotates at high speed and the magnetic head. Obtaining a good sliding contact condition is a particularly important issue. Conventionally, as head sliding contact means for obtaining this stable sliding contact state, a pad made of felt, nonwoven fabric, or the like is used to press down the non-recording surface side of the magnetic sheet. However, when felt or the like is used, the intertwining of the IIi miscellaneous objects is uneven, making the sliding contact between the magnetic sheet and the magnetic head unstable, and the friction generates static electricity, which makes it easy for impurities such as dust to adhere. It had the drawback of damaging the sheet. Furthermore, since the pad and the magnetic sheet are in contact with each other, there is another problem in that the load on the magnetic sheet rotation drive source becomes large.

From the above point of view, a rigid parallax as shown in Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 59-5046 has been devised. FIG. 1 is a diagram showing the outline thereof. In FIG. 1, 1 is a blown magnetic sheet, 2 is a magnetic head, and 3 is a rigid pad. As shown in the figure, the rigid pad 3 has a V-shaped groove 3a at a position facing the magnetic head 2, and presses the magnetic sheet 1 against the magnetic head 2 at this V-shaped groove 3a. According to this rigid pad 3, by appropriately selecting the shape of the V-shaped groove 3a, an air film is formed between the rigid pad 3 and the magnetic sheets 1 to 1 by the air flow accompanying the rotational movement of the magnetic sheet 1 in the direction of the arrow. This prevents damage to the magnetic sheet 1, and the load torque is also made of felt! <Compared to Rad, it becomes a smaller enemy. However, if the rigid body with the above structure (RAD 3) does not form an air film at the start and stop of rotation,
Since the rigid pad 3 is in strong contact with the magnetic sheet 1, there is a risk of damaging the magnetic sheet 1. In addition, if the long open stop state continues, there is a possibility that the magnetic sheet 1 will be locally deformed. Furthermore, when replacing the magnetic sheet 1, the position of the rigid pad 3 must be accurately reset, which makes the work complicated.

In the figure, 10 is a head sliding member. The head sliding contact member 10 is formed of a rigid body such as a non-magnetic metal, and has a first side facing the recording surface 1a of the magnetic sheet 1. It has second Taber surfaces 11 and 12. The first tapered surface 11 is inclined in a direction that gradually moves away from the recording surface 1a of the magnetic sheet 1 along a recording track (not shown) on the magnetic sheet 1. Further, the second tapered surface 12 is provided so as to be connected to the first tapered surface 11, and is inclined in a direction that gradually approaches the recording surface 1a of the magnetic sheet 1 along the recording track. . This device configured as described above has the following effects. When the magnetic sheet 1 stops rotating, the magnetic sheet 1 is completely separated from both the head sliding member 10 and the magnetic head 2, as shown in FIG. From this state, when the magnetic sheet 1 is driven to rotate at high speed by a motor (not shown), the air flow accompanying the rotation causes the head sliding contact member 10 to move to the first position. Negative pressure is generated in the recess 14 formed by the second tapered surface 11°12.

Due to this negative pressure, the magnetic sheet 1 is bent inward into the recess 14 of the head sliding contact member 10, and comes into contact with the magnetic head 2 with a constant pressure. That is, as shown in FIG. 3, the magnetic sheet 1 is in contact with the tip 2a of the magnetic head 2. As shown in FIG. Since an air film 8 is formed between the magnetic sheet 1 and the head sliding member 10 during steady rotation of the magnetic sheet 1, there is no possibility that the magnetic sheet 1 and the head sliding member 10 will come into contact with each other.

Note that the same parts as in FIGS. 2 and 3 are denoted by the same reference numerals, and detailed explanations will be omitted. In this embodiment, a first member 21 having a first tapered surface 11 is used as the head sliding contact member 10.
and a second member 22 having a second tapered surface 12 are separately formed, and the magnetic head 2 moves independently in the radial direction of the magnetic sheet 1 between these first and second members 24,22. Each member 21, 22 is arranged so that a possible groove 23 is formed. Note that the first thing. Second tapered surface 11°12
is inclined in the direction away from the recording surface of the magnetic sheet 1 as it goes from the inner circumferential side to the outer circumferential side of the magnetic sheet 1.

According to the present embodiment configured in this way, the same effects as those of the first embodiment are achieved, and the tapered surfaces 11, 12
Since the magnetic sheet 1 is also deflected in the radial direction due to the negative pressure caused by this, the state shown in FIG. 3 occurs smoothly. Note that since the air flow accompanying the rotation of the magnetic sheet 1 is affected by centrifugal force, when the magnetic sheet 1 is viewed from above, it traces a streamline spiraling outward from the center.

For example, in each of the embodiments described above, the tapered surfaces 11 and 12 are flat surfaces, but are not limited to this and may be curved surfaces. Further, in the above embodiment, an example of application of the present invention to an apparatus using a horizontal recording ring head as the magnetic head 2 was shown, but it may also be applied to an auxiliary pole excitation type perpendicular recording magnetic head or a main pole excitation type perpendicular recording magnetic head. Of course, the invention is also applicable to devices using heads.

(Effects of the Invention) According to the present invention, when the rotation of the magnetic sheet stops, the magnetic sheets 1~ are completely separated from the magnetic head and returned to their natural state, so even if the stopped state continues for a long time, the magnetic sheets 1~ are deformed. Furthermore, since the head sliding contact member does not come into contact with the magnetic sheet 1 at the start and end of rotation of the magnetic sheet, there is no risk of damaging the magnetic sheet. Furthermore, there is no pad on the side opposite to the magnetic head. Since there are no such things, there are advantages such as easy replacement of the magnetic sheet.
