    【実用新案登録請求の範囲】
  1. ハウジング側に固定した固定環と、シヤフト側
    に固定し該シヤフトとともに回転する回転環との
    密接摺動により流体を密封するメカニカルシール
    において、前記固定環もしくは前記回転環の対向
    端部に設けた摺動突起の基部の径方向幅よりも摺
    動端面の径方向幅が大となるごとく、該摺動突起
    の内周面および外周面の少なくとも一方がテーパ
    面をなすことを特徴とするメカニカルシール。
