Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a bottom stream passable at will, preventing separation of the bottom stream from occurring, and check generation of a swirl as well as to reduce a degree of hull resistance, by constituting a bilge keel part with plural members set up intermittently, while installing a clearance between end parts of each keel part. CONSTITUTION:A split type bilge keel 5 consisting of a front keel member 5f, a central bilge keel member 5c and a rear bilge keel member 5a projectingly installed along a bilge part of a ship 1 intermittently is installed. A clearance having a sense allowing a bottom stream shown in a stream line 7a is formed between mutual end parts of these bilge keel members 5f, 5c and 5a. According to this method, the bottom stream is made so as to flow smoothly without receiving any interference in these bilge keels whereby a swirl is in no case produced as separation of the stream occurs, thus an increase in hull resistance is preventable.

By the way, when sailing in a fully loaded state as shown in Figures 8 to 10, the flow along the hull surface flows from the ship's side in the front half of the hull, as shown by flow #iI7, and flows around the bilge section to the underside of the hull. In the rear half of the ship, it flows from the bottom of the ship through the bilge and towards the ship's side.

As shown in the figure, streamlines 7 of the bottom flow cross the bilge keel 5 from above to below, and at the rear end of the bilge keel 5, as shown in FIG. Since the flow crosses the bilge keel 5 from below to above, there is a problem in that the flow that wraps around the bilge keel 5 separates and creates a vortex, leading to an increase in hull resistance.

In addition, when sailing in a ballast state as shown in Figure 11.12, the hull 1 is in the stern trim, so as shown by the streamline 7 of the bottom flow, it flows from the underside of the bottom of the ship around the bilge area to the side of the ship. There will be more flow coming up. Since such a flow flows across the bilge keel 5, there is a problem in that a vortex is generated due to separation of the flow, causing an increase in hull resistance.

Means for Solving Problem C] For this reason, the split-type bilge keel of the present invention includes a plurality of bilge keel members intermittently protruding along the bilge portion of the hull, and the ends of these bilge keel members are connected to each other. It is characterized in that the gap provided in the gap is oriented so as to allow passage of bottom flow in the gap.

In other words, when the ship is sailing in a fully loaded state, the undercurrent flows from the ship's side to the bottom of the ship through the bilge in the front half of the ship. A gap is formed between the ends of the bilge keel member 5f and the central bilge keel member 5C.

With the above-mentioned configuration, when the ship is sailing in a fully loaded state, the bottom flow indicated by the streamline 7a flows smoothly without interference from the bilge keel 5, and therefore the bottom flow does not cause flow separation. This eliminates the generation of vortices, which prevents the conventional increase in hull resistance.

Next, in FIGS. 4 to 7 showing a second embodiment of the present invention, a bilge keel 5 is constituted by a large number of movable bilge keel members 5' that are intermittently protruded along the bilge portion of the hull 1, As shown in FIG. 5, each bilge keel member 5' is rotatably adjusted by a drive device 10 inside the ship via a shaft 9 that penetrates the hull outer plate 8 in a watertight manner.

With the above-mentioned configuration, when the ship is sailing in a parast state, the hull 1 is in the stern trim, so that the underflow flows from the underside of the ship to the bilge section, as shown by the streamline 7b in Fig. 7. Afterwards, it will start to rise towards the ship's side,
Each bilge keel member 5' is adjusted to rotate as shown in FIGS. 6 and 7 so that a gap is formed that is oriented to allow the bottom flow to pass through smoothly.

In addition, in this second embodiment, when sailing with the hull fully loaded, the direction that allows this flow to pass is determined according to the direction of the bottom flow as shown by flow #iI7a in the first embodiment. The rotation of each bilge keel member 5' is adjusted as appropriate so that a gap having a width of 100 mm is formed, thereby preventing an increase in hull resistance.

As detailed above, according to the split-type bilge keel of the present invention, a plurality of bilge keel members are provided that protrude intermittently along the bilge portion of the hull, and a plurality of bilge keel members are provided between the ends of these bilge keel members. It has a simple configuration in which the gap is formed in a direction that allows the bottom flow to pass through that part, and while maintaining its main function as a bilge keel that reduces the shaking of the ship, This has the advantage of preventing flow separation, suppressing the generation of vortices, and preventing an increase in hull resistance.
