Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate installation by forming a ventilating duct with a rigid material and providing an opened side part which has sufficient size to cover both of openings which are formed on a body to connect said duct to the inside of the car room and the cooler of a car respectively. CONSTITUTION:A ventilating duct 20 is formed with a material having rigidity, with its side part 21 being opened so as to have dimensions and configuration that can cover both of openings 4, 6 which are formed on a body 3 to connect the duct to the inside of a car room 2 and to a cooler 5 outside the car room respectively. The ventilating duct 20 is installed to the body 3 in such a way that the side part 21 of the duct 20 covers the openings 4, 6 of the body 3. And, packing 24 is installed between the peripheral part of the side part 21 and the body 3 to prevent air from leaking, while a screw 25 is fitted to a boss 22 provided on the upper part of the ventilating duct 20, through the body 3.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION An example of a prior art ventilation duct used in a rear seat air conditioner of a vehicle such as a wagon is indicated by reference numeral 1 in FIGS. 4-7. The ventilation duct 1 has a cylindrical shape with a closed cross section as shown in the figure, and has an opening 4 formed in a body 3 so as to communicate with the interior of the vehicle interior 2, and an opening 4 formed in the body 3 so as to communicate with a cooler 5 outside the vehicle interior 2. It has ends 7, 8 which are attached to an opening 6 formed in the holder. The ventilation duct 1 is arranged in an invisible location, such as inside a body structure 9 such as a pillar or trim, in order to effectively utilize the space of the rear seat (passenger cabin) and to improve the appearance. Such body structures 9 are often very small and have only a small amount of available space inside them.

For this reason, when inserting and installing the ventilation duct 1 into the body structure, this ventilation duct is also added in order to fix the ends 7 and 8 of the ventilation duct 1 to the body 3, since the ventilation duct 1 is made of a soft material. This requires several parts, and it is difficult to perform the work smoothly.

Further, when the presser plate 11 is used, a grille 14 as shown in FIG. 9 is required to cover it from an aesthetic point of view. This grill 14 is connected to the opening 4 of the body 3.
It is relatively large compared to . That is, in FIG. 9, the inner diameter d of the grille 14 is approximately equal to the size of the opening 4 of the body 3, but the outer diameter O is much larger than the groove, making it difficult to utilize the space effectively. Also, as shown in Figure 7, a certain gap g must be maintained between the ventilation duct 1, 1' and the body 3 or body structure 9 over the entire circumference of the ventilation duct 1, and the duct must be cut. In addition to being disadvantageous in terms of space, these ventilation ducts are mostly blow-molded due to their material and shape.

K so that the open side of the ventilation duct simultaneously covers both the meso-shaped openings facing the vehicle interior and exterior of the vehicle.
By attaching this to the body, a part of the body can be used as a wall of a ventilation duct, and air inside the vehicle can be introduced into a cooler or the like provided outside the single room. Then, when installing this ventilation duct, it is possible to install the ventilation duct without having to do complicated work such as crushing the L collar and pulling it out. A preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described.

The presser plate 11 and the like used in the prior art are unnecessary. Furthermore, compared to the conventional ventilation duct 1 shown by the broken line in FIG. 5, the space g between the body 3 and the broken line can also be used as a duct, so the cross-sectional area of the duct can be increased. Can be done. Furthermore, it is possible to select the shapes and dimensions of the openings 4 and 6 formed in the body 3 relatively freely, and it is also possible to freely form a grille or the like in the body 3.
