In German Patent No. 1170141, di-(monohydroxyphenyl)-substituted aliphatic hydrocarbons 90-30
% by weight and from 10 to 70% by weight of a graft polymer made from polybutadiene and a mixture of acrylonitrile and an aromatic vinyl hydrocarbon. When these compositions are injection molded, molded articles with inadequate weld tangent strength are obtained. For example, a lattice-shaped molded product made by injection molding actually breaks when it is removed from the mold. The object of the present invention is to provide improved molding compositions which do not have this drawback. Accordingly, the present invention relates to a molding composition containing a graft copolymer in which a resin-forming monomer is graft-polymerized onto polycarbonate and rubber. More specifically, the present invention comprises (1) 50 to 85% by weight of polycarbonate (1.1) made from halogen-free phenol;
and expression However, in the formula, n = 15 to 200 X = alkylene or alkylidene having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, cycloalkylene or cycloalkylidene having 5 to 15 carbon atoms, single bond, -O-, or Hal=chlorine or bromine, polycarbonate containing halogen (1/2)
70-30 parts by weight of thermoplastic polycarbonate, which is a mixture of 15-50% by weight, and (2) styrene on polybutadiene (2.1.1).
25-100% by weight of a graft polymer (2.1) obtained by polymerizing a monomer mixture (2.1.2) consisting of 95-50% by weight, 50-5% by weight of acrylonitrile, and 95-50% by weight of styrene. and a copolymer consisting of 50 to 5% by weight of acrylonitrile (2.
2) consisting of 30 to 70 parts by weight of a mixture of up to 75% by weight, where (a) the weight ratio of the rubber of (2.1.1) to the monomer mixture of (2.1.2) is 85:15; (b) the graft copolymer (2.1) in the molding composition has an average particle size of 0.2 to 1.0μ, and (c) the molding composition has a ratio of 10 to 60. It relates to a molding composition characterized in that it contains 35% by weight of rubber (2.1.1). These molding compositions yield molded articles with high tensile strength at the weld tangent. Generally, the strength of the weld tangent clearly reaches 10 cm/Kp/cm 2 or more. In other words, a complex (lattice-like) molded product having a large number of weld tangent lines can be easily produced. The mechanical properties of such moldings are similar to those of corresponding moldings of pure polycarbonate. The molding compositions according to the invention can in principle contain any thermoplastic polycarbonate (c). Suitable polycarbonates are known in the art. These are generally made by reacting dihydroxy or polyhydroxy compounds with phosgene or diesters of carbonic acid. Particularly suitable dihydroxy compounds are dihydroxydiarylalkane, including those having an alkyl group, chlorine or bromine, in the position ortho to the hydroxy group. The following dihydroxyalkanes are preferred.
4,4'-dihydroxy-diphenylpropane-
2,2-(bisphenol A), tetramethylbisphenol A, tetrachlorobisphenol A,
Tetrabromobisphenol A and bis-(4-
hydroxyphenyl)-p-diisopropylbenzene. Branched polycarbonates are also suitable.
Examples of polyhydroxy compounds in which a portion of the dihydroxy compound, for example 0.2 to 2 mole %, is used in place of the polyhydroxy are as follows. 1,4-bis(4',4,2'-dihydroxytriphenylmethyl)-benzene, floglucinol, 4,6-dimethyl-2,4,6-tri-(4
-Hydroxyphenyl)-heptene-2, 4, 6
-dimethyl-2,4,6-tri-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-heptane, 1,3,5-tri-(4
-hydroxyphenyl)-benzene, 1.1.1
-tri-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-ethane and 2,2-bis-[4,4-(4,4'-dihydroxydiphenyl)-cyclohexyl]-propane. This type of polycarbonate is covered by U.S. Patent No.
No. 3028365, No. 2999835, No. 3148172, No.
No. 3271368, No. 2970137, No. 2991273, No. 3271367

listed in the number. Polycarbonate is 10000
It is preferred to have a molecular weight of ~60,000, especially 20,000-40,000. In a preferred embodiment, a mixture of two polycarbonates is used. This mixture contains 50-85% by weight of polycarbonate made from halogen-free polyphenols, and the formula However, in the formula, n = 15 to 200, X = alkylene or alkylidene having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, cycloalkylene or cycloalkylidene having 5 to 15 carbon atoms, single bond, -O-, or Contains 15-50% by weight of halogen-containing polycarbonate, where Hal = chlorine or bromine. Preferably, the final molding composition of this embodiment contains 10 to 30% by weight of halogen-containing polycarbonate. As shown in the above formula, such halogen-containing polycarbonates are based on phenols containing at least two benzene nuclei and four halogen (chlorine, bromine) atoms. The molecular weight of the polycarbonate is preferably 16,000 to 35,000. When using these polycarbonate mixtures, the thermal stability and elastic modulus of the products are extremely high. The second component of the molding composition is a rubber-based graft copolymer. In these products, 95-5% by weight of styrene, methyl methacrylate or mixtures thereof, and acrylonitrile,
A monomer mixture consisting of 5 to 50% by weight of methyl methacrylate or a mixture thereof is grafted onto the rubber. Particularly suitable rubbers are polybutadiene, butadiene/styrene copolymers containing up to 30% by weight of copolymerized styrene, copolymers of butadiene and acrylonitrile containing up to 20% by weight of acrylonitrile, or lower alkyl esters of acrylic or methacrylic acid. It is a copolymer of butadiene and acrylonitrile containing up to 20% by weight (eg methyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate and ethyl methacrylate). In principle, elastomeric components can be used as long as they exhibit rubber elasticity. The weight ratio of rubber to monomer for graft polymerization is 85:15.
Must be in the range ~40:60. The graft polymer has an average particle size of 0.2 to 5μ, preferably 0.2 to 1μ.
present in the molding composition in the form of particles. Graft copolymers of this type are known. These can be obtained, for example, by polymerizing monomers over a radical catalyst in the presence of a rubber latex. The size of the rubber particles in this latex is preferably in the range of 0.2 to 1 micron. This is because graft polymerization of monomers does not increase the particle size of the particles. In addition to the graft copolymers, the molding compositions can also contain graft monomers or copolymers of similar monomers. The copolymer consists of 95-50% by weight of styrene, alpha-methylstyrene, methyl methacrylate or mixtures thereof, and 5-50% by weight of acrylonitrile, methacrylonitrile, methyl methacrylate or mixtures thereof. Copolymers of this type are often formed as secondary products during graft polymerization reactions, especially when large amounts of monomer are grafted onto small amounts of rubber. In this respect, in addition to or instead of the copolymers thus produced, separately produced copolymers of this type can be added. The two or three components of the molding composition of the invention can be made separately and then mixed in known mixtures. Mixtures suitable for this purpose are, for example, mixing rolls, double screw extruders or internal mixers. A mixture of a graft polymer and a copolymer, i.e. the mixture specified in 2 above,
The two components can be first made by mixing and then mixed with the polycarbonate. Fillers, glass fibers, pigments or other additives, such as stabilizers, flame retardants, caustic agents, lubricants, demolding agents, antistatic agents, can be added to the molding composition during mixing. Molding compositions made according to the invention can be used in the production of any type of molded article. In particular, molded articles can be made by injection molding.
Examples of molded articles that can be made from the molding compositions of the invention include any type of molded article (e.g. household appliances such as liquefiers, coffee brewers, and mixers).
