However, since this paint generates harmful gases during welding and can cause pits, be sure to use a sander etc. to remove the paint from the weld joint and its surroundings before welding, and then repair. The rigid materials are placed along the marked lines drawn on the flat plate, and appropriate tack welding is done manually to maintain the position, and the actual welding is then carried out by semi-automatic welding.

However, there were disadvantages such as the peeling condition caused by the manual work of stripping the paint on the flat plate and the alignment work of the stiffener, and variations in product quality such as stiffener pitch and collapse.

Continuous fillet welding on both sides, which is characterized by welding while holding the position of the stiffener by restraining it from both sides and the upper surface, securing a space for venting harmful gas, and venting gas in the welding direction. It's a method.

In this way, in order to maintain the upright posture and horizontal position of the stiffener with an inclined bottom cut that is easy to fall over, and to ensure a continuous space for gas venting,
As shown in Fig. 5, the horizontal restraining rows 27 of the horizontal restraining device restrain the stiffener 2' by horizontal force from both sides, and the horizontal restraining rows 27 of the horizontal restraining device restrain the stiffener 2' from above in order to continuously bring the stiffener and the flat plate into contact with each other. Vertical restraint rows 28 of the vertical restraint device are arranged at the front and rear of the welding machine or only at the front. In this way, fillet welding on both sides of the bottom inclined cut stiffener can be performed continuously while restraining the bottom cut stiffener, thereby making it possible to perform fillet welding on both sides of the bottom cut stiffener at the joint.

As an example, the workpieces (stiffener 2' and flat plate 1) are welded by the welding machine 9 while being transferred on the traveling rail 14 by the workpiece transfer wheel 13. The unit frame 15 suspends a welding machine 9, welding auxiliary equipment (wire supply device 10, flux supply device 11, slag recovery device 12, etc.), a horizontal restraint device 5, and a vertical restraint device 6, and stiffens each restraint device. A vertical restraining row 28 and a horizontal restraining row 27 are provided in the portion that is in direct contact with the material so that continuous restraining welding can be carried out without difficulty.
