As society progresses and the scope of human activity expands, there are increasing cases in which the person on the other end of the phone is not available, and there is a strong desire to improve the immediacy of communication over the phone. In response to these demands, pagers, which are a conventional mobile radio paging system, have been commercialized to meet these demands. but,
This system merely has the function of calling a moving subscriber and does not include a function of reporting requirements. On the other hand, although it is possible to wirelessly transmit voice to the caller, this requires a wide range of radio frequencies, and it has traditionally been difficult to provide large-scale services. The reason is that in order to modulate and transmit the radio frequency with an audio signal, in the case of analog modulation, at least
A band of 4KHz is required, and in the case of digital modulation, a band of at least 32KHz is required, assuming a frequency utilization rate of 1 bit/sec/Hz, making it an extremely wide wireless device compared to a pager. This is because a frequency band is required. Therefore, in order to realize wireless voice reporting, a voice band compression technique that makes effective use of radio frequencies is required.

Furthermore, when transmitting voice notifications wirelessly using the conventional analog modulation method, there is a possibility that they may be easily intercepted, which threatens the confidentiality of communications essential for public communications. Digital modulation is a better modulation method than analog modulation in order to improve confidentiality, but as mentioned above, the large occupied frequency band again poses a problem.

FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of a transmitter in a wireless voice notification system according to the present invention. When a telephone subscriber dials the number of a subscriber carrying a wireless voice notification receiver from the telephone 1, if the subscriber is absent, the transfer function in the telephone exchange 2 operates to accept the wireless voice notification device. The calling subscriber is connected to trunk 3. At that time, the telephone exchange 2 also transmits the radio calling number of the other subscriber to the dialing signal receiver 5 via the reception trunk 3. When a call is accepted, the voice response device 4
The wireless voice notification service device 40 notifies the user by voice that the notification has been accepted. Furthermore, the voice response device 4 inquires of the calling subscriber 1 whether he or she wishes to transmit a fixed form message, and if so, prompts the subscriber 1 to send a number specifying the fixed form message. The fixed form notification number issued by the subscriber 1 is decoded by the dial signal receiver 5.

The radio calling number and standard notification number received in this way are converted into a code unique to the other subscriber by a calling signal converter 6, and then modulated into a radio frequency by a calling signal modulator 7, and sent to a radio transmitter 11. It is broadcast through the antenna 12. Furthermore, if the calling subscriber 1 wishes to send a voice message other than a standard message to the other subscriber, the voice message is stored in the voice signal buffer 8 and then sent to the voice signal encoder 9.
After the signal is converted into a code with a small amount of information, the audio signal modulator 10 modulates the radio frequency, and then the signal is broadcast via the radio transmitter 11 and antenna 12.

The radio frequency signal sent from the transmitting antenna 12 is transmitted to the receiving antenna 13 of the portable radio receiver owned by the mobile subscriber and the radio frequency receiver 1 shown in FIG.
4 and demodulated into a baseband signal. This baseband signal is supplied to a paging signal decoder 15, and when the paging signal decoder 15 determines that the received signal is a call to itself, it makes a speaker 16 sound. When a fixed form notification number is received following a calling signal, the number decoded by the calling signal decoder 15 is displayed on the character/symbol display 20, and the voice specified by the number is output from the audio parameter storage 19. The parameters necessary for synthesis are read out and supplied to the speech synthesizer 18, thereby outputting the contents of the received fixed form message as voice from the speaker 16. In this way, a fixed form message can be, for example, a right now, b later today, c in the morning, d tonight, e in the afternoon, f by tomorrow, p please come, q please call me. A predetermined code is given to each word, phrase (clause), etc. of the group ``r, please return'' and , by numbering, etc., and in this example, one code in the former group and one code in the latter group are given. This code is combined with one of the codes, and the code is transmitted, and the receiving side reproduces the corresponding word, phrase, etc. from the code.

Individual radio calls only Individual radio calls + transmission of fixed-form notifications Individual radio calls + transmission of undefined voice notifications Individual wireless calls + fixed-form notifications + transmission of undefined voice notifications are included in the functions of conventional pagers.
This system adds the transmission of fixed form notifications, that is, symbols and number notifications, but it is possible to not only display text and symbols using a portable wireless receiver, but also convert them into audio and listen to them. This makes it easier to understand standardized notifications and increases their convenience. If N bits of information are transmitted for standardized notifications, 2N types of notifications can be distinguished. Since the voice itself is transmitted, the amount of information transmitted is large, but the caller can transmit a comprehensive report. . simultaneously includes the functions of .

When transmitting an amorphous voice message, it is easy to use the voice signal encoder 9 to encode the voice message into a code unique to the other subscriber. By using the audio signal decoder 17 that supports this encryption, it is possible to extremely reduce the probability that the radio frequency signal will be intercepted by someone other than the desired subscriber.

In addition, by appropriately designing the audio signal encoder 9 and the notification synthesizer 17, it is possible to compress the amount of information required for audio signal transmission to about 1000 to 2000 bits per second. The wireless voice notification method, which was considered virtually difficult to transmit because it requires a wide radio frequency band, has now been developed.
This can be realized by the method of this invention.

Furthermore, in order to reduce battery consumption in the receiver, it is possible to turn on/off all the parts other than the radio frequency receiver 14 and the paging signal decoder 15 using an electronic switch so that they consume power only for the necessary time. By doing so, it is possible to make the power consumption comparable to that of a conventional pager. In addition, conventionally known speech synthesis techniques can be used to synthesize speech using speech parameters, and by configuring the speech synthesizer as a semiconductor integrated circuit, it can be incorporated into a portable receiver.

As explained above, this wireless voice notification system incorporates a voice synthesizer into the mobile receiver, making it possible to effectively utilize radio frequencies to transmit fixed and undefined voice notifications, which was previously considered difficult. This can be realized while keeping in mind, and the convenience of telephones can be expanded.
