Abstract

PURPOSE:To finish a molded part quickly and surely and at the same time prevent whitening and cracks from developing by a method wherein a cutter equipped with a filing part is used at the cutting-off of a gate mark. CONSTITUTION:A transparent or translucent plastic molded part with a gate mark 1 thereon is taken out of a mold and stationarily supported by means of a chucking mechanism 3. A cutter 4 is advanced toward the gate mark of the stationarily supported part 2 vertically or laterally in order to cut off the gate mark. No vibration of the cutter is always necessary during the advance of the cutter 4. Whitening and cracks can be prevented from developing in the molded part, because the molded part is finished by using the chucking mechanism 3 to stationarily support the molded part and the cutter blade and filing part 42 to cut off the gate mark and to file the surface, from which the gate mark is cut off.

るいはきりにより孔をあけたり、ミーリングカッタ加工
等が行なわれているが、ゲート跡の除去にはせん断、切
断が一般的である。そして、ゲート跡のせん断、切断の
債、均一な透明度や光の屈折の一様性を確保するために
、ゲート跡のせん断個所を含む他の部分もフライス盤等
によりカットして捨て去るという手間をかけ、しかも材
料の無駄も生じていた。

も無くすために、この発明がなされ、かかる目的達成の
ために次のように構成した。すなわち、この発明の仕上
げ方法は、ゲート跡が残った成形品を金型から取出し、
当該成形品を静止保持する工程と、先端に刃を備え中間
部にやすり部を備えたカッターでゲート跡をカットする
工程と、ゲート跡除去面に接触しかつ平行にカッターに
振動を与えカッターのやすり部で研磨する工程とを有す
るものである。また、この発明の仕上げ装置は、金型か
ら取出されたゲート跡の残った成形品を、そのゲート跡
に対して直交する方向からしかもゲート跡近傍において
静止保持するためのチャック機構と、先端に刃を備え中
間部にやすり部を備えたカッターが取付けられた振動発
生機とを有し、このカッターがゲート跡に対して水平面
上若しくは垂直面上から進出し、振動発生機の作動又は
進出移動に伴って先端の刃でゲート跡をカットするとと
もにやすり部でゲート跡除去面を研磨することにより上
述の目的を達成したものである。

ピストン51に取付具52を介してカッター4を取付け
、このシリンダのピストン51の運動によりカッター4
に振動を与えることも可能であり(第3図参照)、モー
タ53の回転を変換−構54により往復運動に変換し、
カッター4の取付具52を往慣運動させることでも可能
である(第4図参照)。この第4図の振動発生機5は、
ミシンの針を運動させると同様の原理であっでも良い。

く研磨によって、透光作用や屈折に伴う不自然な外観の
発生も防止される。
