砂を連続排土して掘削を行なう。したがつてスキ
ンプレート1の外面、カツターヘツド2の外周面
及び前面、さらに機内に設置された各種の構成要
素、たとえば排土装置4のケーシング内面等が地
山7あるいは掘削土砂に接触して摺動する。その
反面、前記各要素はすべて鋼材で構成される。こ
の実施例では、第3図あるいは第4図のように、
これらの鋼材8の表面に、ライニング9を施して
ある。すなわち第3図のものは、カツターヘツド
