Detailed Description of the Invention (Field of Industrial Application) The present invention is directed to the reloading of fuel assemblies currently being carried out at nuclear power plants from the viewpoint of whether or not fuel assemblies that have been irradiated during periodic inspections can be reloaded. This invention relates to an appearance inspection method.

(Prior Art) Underwater televisions have traditionally been used for visual inspection of fuel assemblies. Underwater TV inspections sometimes involve inspecting all fuel assemblies scheduled for reloading, making the fuel removal and fuel inspection processes critical during regular inspections at nuclear power plants.

At nuclear power plants, there is a need to shorten periodic inspections in order to improve their operating rates, and for this purpose it is necessary to shorten the time required for visual inspections using underwater television equipment. However, conventional underwater TV inspection apparatuses are of a seven-sided or two-sided type, which takes a long time to inspect seven bodies, and requires a mechanism for rotating the fuel assembly in order to inspect the μ plane.

(Means for resolving the problem) One of the fuel inspections is visual inspection using an underwater television.Currently, it is a 7-panel or 2-panel type, but it is recommended to use a Hiromen-style underwater television instead. This results in a significant reduction in inspection time.

Furthermore, as a method to shorten the inspection time the most, a q solid underwater TV is fixed near the appender of the fuel transfer canal in the fuel handling building, and when the spent fuel bit crane is pulling up the fuel from the appender, the fuel is removed at the same time. Use in conjunction with the method of visual inspection.

The fuel assembly 1 is transferred from the containment vessel 10 side to the fuel handling building 12 side through the fuel transfer canal 11 in a horizontal state by a manipulator crane 40 and an appender 2 having a rotation function. Thereafter, it is moved onto the appender 2 on the side of the fuel handling building 12, and is brought into an upright state by rotating the appender 2.

In the present invention, as shown in FIG.
By providing the fuel assembly 1 adjacent to the appender 2, it is possible to perform an external appearance inspection while taking out the fuel assembly 1 from the appender 2.

(Effect of the invention) Since the visual inspection of the t-plane of the fuel assembly is carried out simultaneously while pulling it up from the appender, it goes without saying that the inspection time is greatly shortened, and the inspection surface of the fuel assembly can be seen by a television camera. There is no need to install a rotation mechanism to orient the camera.
