Abstract

PURPOSE:To break a collar with a predetermined force to prevent a machine and a drill from breakaging by providing a notch between a main body and a collar while a drill holder is divided into three and the free end thereof can be opened and closed. CONSTITUTION:A drill holder 3 is mounted on a base 1 and provided with a tapered hole 7 flaring upward, a projection 8 on an end of this tapered hole and a large diameter hole 9. Also, the holder 6 is divided into three circumferentially so that the free end is liable to expand. Further, a main body 4 is provided with a small diameter hole 11 and a notch 10 between the hole 11 and a collar 5. Also, a collar 15 fitted in the hole 9 is press fitted onto a drill 14. Thus, when the drill 14 onto which the collar is press fitted is forced into the holder 3 and further forced therin until a spring is completely compressed, the collar 5 is broken down to drop the holder and prevent a machine and the drill from breakage.

る。このドリル保持装置は、ドリルの軸方向に過大な力
が加わった場合、ドリル保持装置の底部を破壊して、機
械やドリルの破損を防止することができるようになって
いる。しかし、ドリル保持装置を構成する部品数が多く
、それらの加工や組立に多くの手間が必要であり、かつ
高価なものになる欠点がある。

同図において、機械に固定されたベース1に形成された
穴2には、ドリル保持装置3が支持されている。このド
リル保持装置3は、前記穴2に嵌合する大径の本体4と
、この本体4から張出した鍔5および本体4から突出す
る保持部6から成る。前記保持部6は、開口端に向けて
拡開するテーパ穴7と、このテーパ穴7の一端に形成さ
れた突起8と、前記テーパ穴7と連通する大径の穴9が
形成されている。また、前記保持部6は、その円周方向
に3分割され、自由端が開閉可能罠なっている。前記本
体4と鍔5の間には、切欠き10が形成され、所定の力
で本体4と鍔5が破断するようになっている。前記本体
4には、前記穴9に連通する小径の穴11が形成されて
いる。前記穴9と11の段部12は、穴9内に挿着され
たばね13を支えている。ドリル14には、前記穴9に
嵌合するカラー15が圧入されている。

間に環状の切欠きを形成したことを特徴とするドリル保
