Heat treatment of carbon bodies is generally carried out by filling the carbon bodies together with coke breeze and the like in a sagger. This heat treatment method has poor thermal efficiency because the carbon body, which is the object to be treated, is heated and heated by conduction heat transfer, and there is a large mass to be heated. However, it is easily deformed and damaged due to internal pressure, and also has drawbacks such as the difficulty of removing coke breeze that is firmly attached to the workpiece after heat treatment.

The present applicant and others have proposed a low-cost and highly efficient method for firing carbon bodies that eliminates the various defects of the conventional heat treatment method (Japanese Patent Publication No. 40886/1986). This invention has a structure in which no filler such as coke breeze is used in the space between the sagger and the sagger containing the carbon material to be treated, and the inside of the sagger is maintained in a substantially non-oxidizing atmosphere. This is a heat treatment method characterized by heating the inside of the sagger to be higher than the atmospheric temperature inside the furnace by heating mainly.

Furthermore, prior to filing the present application, the present applicant et al. proposed a cover in which a saucer for tar pitch gushing out from a carbon body is placed on a bottom plate to form a hot gas convection space between the two, and a gas vent hole is provided at the top. placed on the bottom plate,
proposed a sagger structure for heat treatment of carbon bodies in which the joint between the cover and the bottom plate can be sealed (Utility Model Application No. 51-157573). In this design, the space defined by the side plate of the bottom plate and the lower end of the cover 3 is filled with granular sealing material 8 such as sand or silica sand, and the inside of the sagger is maintained at a slight positive pressure. Tar pitch liquid gushes out from the carbon body in excess of the capacity of the saucer in the sagger, boils due to heating, flows out from the saucer, and enters between grains of sand, silica sand, etc., and these granular sealants cause the tar pitch to volatilize and burn. There is a risk that the remaining oxygen in the firing furnace will cause a combustion reaction, and there are some drawbacks.

In this mutual structure, a receiving plate 3 is placed inside the bottom plate 1 to receive tar pitch generated by heating the carbon body. A plurality of rows of saucer holding members 9 are attached to the lower part of the saucer 3, which serve to reinforce the hot gas convection space 15 on the inner lower surface of the sagger and the saucer 3. Furthermore, a reinforcing seat 8 is attached around the upper opening of the saucer 3 to prevent tar pitch gushing out from the carbon body a from flowing into the bottom tray 1. Further, in order to provide a space 16 for collecting tar that flows out from the carbon body a in the saucer 2, a pedestal 4 is mounted on the saucer reinforcing seat 8. It is preferable that the tar pit storage space 16 of the saucer 3 is made to a depth that prevents the pedestal 4 from being buried in residual carbon.

As shown in an enlarged view in FIG. 3, the joint between the bottom plate 1 and the cover 2 is provided with a reinforcing seat 6 that also serves as a packing groove around the upper part of the bottom plate 1, and a packing material 13 made of ceramic fiber is loaded. , the packing material 13 is crimped by the weight of the cover 2, and the sagger can be sealed. A reinforcing seat 7 is attached around the lower part of the cover 2. Gas vent holes 14 are formed at appropriate intervals in the upper part of the cover 2 that surrounds the carbon body a, and the volatile gas of tar pitch gushing out from the carbon body a is released from the gas vent holes 14 in the upper part of the cover 2. Since the internal pressure can be maintained at a slight positive pressure during the temperature rising process, it is possible to prevent oxidation of the carbon body. Note that the cover 2 can be manufactured to have any cross-sectional shape depending on the loading state of the objects to be processed. Bottom plate 1, cover 2, saucer 3
It is desirable to attach reinforcing members 10, 11, and 12 at appropriate intervals to increase the strength. Further, since the lower part of the outer surface of the bottom plate 1 is preferentially heated, it is desirable to protect the outer surface with a refractory material for the purpose of preventing metal oxidation.

In the sagger of the present invention, by supplying hot gas to a hearth or a cart (not shown) configured to preferentially heat the lower part of the sagger, Hot gas convection space 1
The gas inside 5 generates buoyancy due to thermal expansion, and the third
As shown in the figure, active convection occurs in the interval 17 within the sagger, and the tar pitch gushing out from the carbon body a accumulates in the saucer 3 and is volatilized by heating, causing convection within the sagger, but the gas at the top of the cover Extraction hole 1
4, it is released as appropriate. The diameter and number arrangement of the gas vent holes 14 are balanced with the resistance of the seal portion at the bottom of the sagger, and are sufficient to maintain a slight positive pressure inside the sagger and to equalize hot gas convection within the sagger.

The combustible gas released from the upper part of the sagger is incinerated by an incinerator installed in the kiln, and is supplied to a hearth heating gas passage such as a truck and can be used as a heating heat source.

The present invention has the above-mentioned configuration, and as a result, it can exhibit the following effects: 1. The carbon body is surrounded by a reducing atmosphere by the volatile gas of the tar pitch gushing out in the sagger, and oxidation is prevented. It will be planned.

2. Only the volatile content of the tar pitch gushing out in the sagger can be taken out from the top of the sagger, incinerated, and used as a heating heat source. This not only makes it easy to control the atmosphere inside the kiln and contributes to fuel savings, but also removes the residual content in the saucer. Carbon content can be reused as raw material and fuel.

3. The work of loading the objects to be treated and the work of taking out the residual carbon can be done by removing the cover according to the order in which the saggers are assembled, so that the work conditions are good and it is possible to save labor by using a simple device.

4. The sealing of the sagger is achieved by loading ceramic fiber sealing material into the sealing groove that also serves as reinforcement for the opening of the bottom plate, and crimping it using the cover's own weight, resulting in a good seal and the sealing material lasting. Since it can be used, it is possible to save labor in sealing the sagger.

5 The sagger is a combination of simple parts, and the tar pitch gushing out from the carbon body and the tar pitch adhering to the pallets are stored and dry distilled in the tray without flowing out into the bottom tray, so it is easy to assemble and remove the sagger. This can be done quickly and easily, and since the sagger is not subjected to internal pressure, the sagger itself can be made of ordinary steel as long as consideration is given to protecting the outer surface of the bottom plate, and the manufacturing cost can be greatly reduced.
